***** AORUS DID NOT INVENT THE GRAPHICS CARD, THEY PERFECTED IT! RTX 2000 SERIES!! *****

Yeah that's what they boost to out the box. 1770 they say - to get that I had to apply a -180mhz I think it was.

Anyway I didn't try that I went with -48mhz with 100 power (I know its just to test it but I/we should not have to underclock factory OC cards out the box haha). Darksiders 3 crashed after 40-45mins temp was about 75c fans always on max.

It crashes to 'no signal' on TV, the problem I was having when I first got and the PSU seemed to resolve it.

Im not convinced I needed a new PSU, 650w should be plenty - most off the max draw figures are around 350w. Slowly running out patience now but not sure OCUK would be help as they wasn't for scubes.

I bought a new psu for this card (think I’ve spent enough now to be honest ) it crashes just have to get on with it hopefully newer drivers will sort some of the crashes and yes seancyc5 I no all about the no signal to tv had that also black screens .

Is 45 mins longer than it would normally last and is 75c cooler than it normally gets? Do you know what voltage it was using ? Whats your cooling setup?

Even this guy reckons the temps are crap because you only get 2 and a bit fans. Form over function.

Wow, that's a pretty damning video of the card's cooling (or lack thereof) ability.

I like RGB but not when it's at the price of performance.

I’m happy with my card got a brill case to help keep the temps down apity it’s crashes a lot but as I’ve said I’m keeping it hopefully a fix will come along to fix the crashes ....

I think Gibbo really should have got a sample card and gave it a run through before declaring this a "perfect card". It's average at best with some led's slapped onto it. Just shows how looks can sway opinion away from what matters. Gigabyte need to drop this overlapping fans gimmick if it means one fan has the air pressure of a hamsters fart. They could easily fit 3 regular fans into that design if they made the card a little wider or recessed a part of the heatsink to accommodate it.

Normally anywhere from 10mins to 1 hour most games crash eventually. I dont normally play for more than about an hour at a time so get away with it sometimes.

75c is good but its only that low because the game wasnt having to run at 100 load to maintain 60fps (I use vysnc).

On games that load up the card fully temp is normally 80-82c.

I have 2 fans at the top of the case for exhaust 120mm and 140mm, CPU AIO 140mm I think (see sig)out the back, 200mm front intake and a 120mm bottom intake in front of the PSU.

Agree, to be fair I only bought it as it was clocked high and looked good and had 4yr warranty from a well know brand and was in stock. I will defo get a water cooled next time around.

None of us bought it because Gibbo said it was great though, we did it because this looked like the start of the Aorus brand establishing itself as a seller of top performing cards. Aorus did a good 1080 Ti by most accounts. We all, (reasonably) assumed that if they’d put half as much effort into the cooler as the RGB then it would be a solid performer. Unfortunately they didn’t and that was surprising given how much they bleated about their overlapping fan solution etc etc.

The Palit card that I’ve purchased from OCUK to replace it runs faster and cooler. It looks bland by comparison, but I don’t care. Besides, once it has an NZXT Kraken X42 hanging off it it’ll look pretty good and I can mount it vertically without it sounding like a frigging jet engine.

True but it got a ringing endorsement from him in the title of this thread and ultimately is "meh" at best. 3 fans with their "one fan spins in the alternate direction" gimmick which really is up in the air if it does anything or not. It might if the middle fan was actually a fan and not some spindly looking shred of plastic that barely has any blades to speak of. Sapphire also does this "alternate centre fan spin" with their nitro triple fan card so presumably it does do something in terms of airflow, the aorus simply hasn't got a middle fan to make use of it.

Did you try and return it and they find no fault or was that Scubes?

75c with an under utilised card at 60fps is crazy. Easy thing to try might be just to make sure all the screws on the cooler are tight. You could also try to remove the cooler and repaste.

Only other thing on a software level is to undervolt it using the voltage curve in afterburner.

That’s was me mate and it’s still the same no point sending it back for them to send it back to me lol.

OCUK have over-hyped this card and then let customers pick up the pieces.

lol hamster fart:D has more power to cool :p

I would be raging if it was not fit for purpose and the money you spent on it, does seem that OC should refund or replace this.

Don’t get me wrong I like the card but the problems I’m having with it isn’t worth the hassle my old 970 is more stable I’ve never had this much trouble outa any upgrades. I’ve ever got ...

sorry mate, have not backpedaled to read earlier posts, but it really sounds like you have a faulty card here. Possibly bad application of thermal material or doggy contact somewhere.

Mine would get up to 87-88 and it could run few hours like that gaming. I did eventually provide more case fans and that brought it down to 83-84 which for me is still too high for me, 80C or less is ideal. I am just in shock that Gigabyte though this was adequate cooling. The problem is that it does not leave much room for bad case cooling on the consumer side. There is no lean way, if you dont have excellent case airflow this card will overheat.

It was heating my NVME drives such that they were throttling, this card chucks out heat. The evga cards are getting 60-65 on 100% load with fans at 60-70% now that is what you call excellent thermals.

They should fire the person at Gigabyte for making such a turd card, to be honest the whole Gigabyte Aorus RTX lineup is has bad thermals.

What a epic failure by gigabyte.

The created essentially a supermodel of the GFX world, really pretty, really skinny but bad tempered and performance.
