Apex Legends BR

Starting to wear thin now - need to be quicker with maps/new characters etc - Still a great game but needs some updates as it's just a rinse and repeat game at the moment for me

Agreed, hurry up with a new map at the last. Saying that I think season 2 starts soon ish they are probably holding it all back to launch with that
 
Always dreaded updates as it break the game. This time no exception. My game before takes 10 secs after splash to load to main menu.

After patching. Splash screen loads with easy anticheat. Disappears and just stops. I see it's launched in task bar. It eventually loads after 5 mins
So frustrating!

Ah yea run after burner with riva, I'll try disable that an try again thanks.

Don't have steam checked, thought that may have conflicting issues. But will enable that too.

Try turning off the "Origin In-Game" (or something like that) within the game properties in Origin. Think that's what solved it for me previously.

Lots of issues post patch - I cant use bind keys for healing items etc, poor performance (try to use the London Datacentre)....

on a 3 win streak for the elite queue. won the last game and the first.

does it get progressively harder like trials in destiny. or we getting matched against people on a 1 elite streak?

Yeah tried that as well, no difference.

Before Patching

Launch Apex from origin client > shows splash screen> 5 to 10 secs > Loads main menu (press any key to continue).

After Patching

Launch Apex from origin client > shows splash screen > Splash screen disappears > sits at Desktop for 120+ seconds > eventually loads main menu (press any key to continue)

Once its into the game its fine and works ok. So it looks like it takes quite some time before it catches up and actually launches into the game. I can see in Task Manager throughout the wait Apex is running in the background. I have tried all the usual repair Apex, check game integrity, repaired Easy Anti Cheat, Checked FW connection, AV exemption > Update drivers. > Remove launch options. All made no difference at all.
 
So is this new "Elite queue" something you select when queuing or does it just put you there automatically once you meet the criteria?

Kind of hoping for the latter as it will get the obscenely good players out of the lower tier queue and might level the playing field a bit

when you come top 5 you then have the option of queuing normally or elite. it will auto select elite but you can manually choose normal.

if you don't come top 5 again then you are put back into normal.

your streak shows in the top right and goes 1,2,3, etc.

so if i was a youtuber wanting to make clips i would manually select the noob queue and smash them.

the game is very easy now in normal queue and a bit of a challenge in elite queue. as in if you get into a fight in elite you will be third partied or even third and fourth partied. you need to end it quick then heal. then loot cautiously. we had some epic 4 squad battles in it yesterday. where i had to use my smoke quite a lot (playing bangalore) to pull out and heal. throw 1 smoke down and then run away then put another smoke down near the fighting. they then waste all their nades and push the smokes but your never there.
 
Yeah I'm finding Lifeline great in the Elite games due to the ability to get squadmates back up mid fight (happens a lot more in the chaos of multple squad engagement) and the need to recharge/heal quickly and get back into the fight quicker.
 
Might also just be me but the hot drops and Skulltown are less popular in the Elite games...guessing this is due to the desire to not actually die in the first 5 minutes ?

yeah hot drops are much less. a lot of the good players however will chase down weak players who think they can just run away and avoid engagements.

also i have found out in later circles only 1 member of a squad still alive just trying to get top 5 again. so easy kills later on.

you have to play as a team in elite queue. you can't just run into and destroy teams of 3 like you can in normal mode. i got my highest kills yesterday i think was 9.
