**Apple Media Event - September 12th **

I am keeping away decided to jump ship and get windows 8 and nokia. been iphone user for ages , but the jumps that Apple are making is just to small.
I don't think I would shell out for an extra row of icons tbh .
The battery life on the 4s was very poor , and tbh I was getting sick of the "sameness" of the ios etc.
I am sure a lot of you have huge iTunes libs etc and you cant change .
I hope they bring out something great , but I think more of the same but faster ....

I am more or less in the same boat except I never went for the 4s and stuck with the 4, which has performed very well for me. I now want to pass the 4 to my parents so I am in the market for a new phone...

I am burnt out on iOS, which I always JB with each major release. A bigger screen just isn't enough really and faster hardware is welcome but not really needed imo so I can't see how they will impress. Guess I will know soon enough.

I have a medium sized app library on the iPhone and I guess I can live with abandoning that as I have an iPad3 anyway.

Well all I want is a bigger screen. That is more than half an inch or otherwise I'm going to go with the Note 2 this time round. Like others I think it will be hard for Apple to excite. I really wish they would announce a large screen version though for those that want it!

I'm not as "excited" by the "iPhone5" as previous versions and may it is because I have grown up a bit since the first iPhones were about. When I was younger I was constantly updating my phone what seemed like every 5 seconds! (I did work in a mobile phone shop which goes some way to explain this). What I don't understand is how some people are willing to just jump ship if the "iPhone5" is rubbish....

Even if it is just an incremental increase then I'll just keep my iPhone4. I suppose I have a bit of brand loyalty but that is because I like how every thing syncs up. Not really sure what the point of this post is... haha... :p

Well no one wants the same phone forever and if the competition is offering more there's little reason to stay with Apple. :)

Edit: as a little side note how much should I be looking at selling an iPhone 4 16gb in good condition?

I've been debating changing from my iPhone 4 to an Android device if the iPhone 5 announcement doesn't live up to the hype.

But, my 4 doesn't have Siri, it doesn't have turn by turn navigation or many other 4S only perks.

So thinking about it, moving to the 5 would still be an upgrade as there are still features out there that I can play around with.

Got a galaxy nexus currently which I've found to be a good phone. Battery life isn't the best though and I miss the premium feel of the iPhone. I'm on a sim only deal currently so tempted to go for an iPhone 5. Will be watching this with interest tonight.

I'm in exactly the same boat.

Upgrade due now.

Waiting to see too!

I think if Apple are to announce something to blow people away tonight that hasn't been reported up till now it should be battery life.

If Tim Cook comes on stage and says, "look, it's as thin and lightweight as an IP4S, but the battery life in now two/three times as good" I'll be impressed.

It's the one major flaw still troubling nearly every smart phone that they must be recharged every night if you actually want to use them like a smart phone.

To offer a phone that is IP4S + 1 but then to say you can take it away for a weekend and not bother with the charger would be a massive selling point I'm sure.

Apart from that I don't know where they can go really to better the Galaxy S3.

I've still got my iPhone 4. Never saw the need to upgrade to the 4S as there was very little difference. So I'm going to wait until to see what the 5 offer's but I have to say a extra row of icons and a slightly larger screen doesnt mean much to me. In fact I think a slightly larger screen would annoy me.

The only downside is I use iTunes (only the application I don't buy stuff from them) for all my music and I have a a few ibooks and apps that I would miss.

I think if the 5 doesn't really offer much I will have think about what to do as an upgrade. Either buy a 4S at a cheaper price or convert over to an Andriod device.
