Aquiss

What do all the LEDs on the ONT say?
ONT is fine

Unplugged it for 5 mins and powered back on, has not solved the issue

EDIT, so left the house with the router still not working and came back after about 2 hours, and it just seemed to have got back on its feet after erring for hours according to log. So have installed the stock firmware and done a factory reset (router based, not a hard reset)

Thinking I might jump from the 74mb with BT @£20 to Aquiss, think the 300mb at £45 a month seems the best value.
Guessing they email you over the router settings once you sign up.
Also that 3 year loyalty thing is that in your contract or is it just word of mouth which can't be counted on

45 quid for 300meg? Sounds pricey.

Are Plusnet not a viable option. They're 29 for the same speed. 37 for 900.

I wonder if that is account dependant.?
PN for me at 900 is £42.99

£29, then £32 next year, £35 the year after then £49 after that.
Aquiss is £22.50 for 6 months then £45 after that. Then after 3 years you get that discount added back on for loyalty.

It's never 49 unless you like being shafted. Either way it looks like you've made your mind up.

I just asked to match the new customer when it's time to renew.
Good point, probably worth a phone call rather than automatically renew.
That sort of practice was supposed to have been dropped for insurance policies, where new customers are offered discounts over that of existing ones. Seems to apply in other business's tho....
The 42.99 for me was to upgrade my 500 connection.

One of the reasons I fancy giving Aquiss ago, although they do still do the 6 months half price nonsense. They don't do yearly increases at least.

I just don't want to have to keep swapping and changing and begging for a new discount. Why can't they just have a price and stick to it.
But your correct I either pay Aquiss (it's not the cheapest) or I play the games and go with the likes of Plusnet.

Can't speak for others but I have been with PN since 2015 with FTTC, now with FTTP.
I was with them for many years before FTTC.

Their UK based tech and customer support has been excellent in that time.
In the past I have needed their support, at one time a LOT of work being done by them and OR, eventually needing new underground cables.
Their support had always been good, something that hopefully you do not need. But when you do you then just hope you get it....!

If I did choose Plusnet, it's not worth switching until March otherwise I'll be paying more if I switched now. They need to bin the whole price increase in march rubbish.
£773 Vs £731
It'd be slightly better if they said price increases at month 12 of your contract. As you can tell the whole thing just bugs me.
