The excuse of exchange price is utter rubbish as none of their other products were showing same fluctuations in price. Confirming price on a product at point of sale then taking a different amount from someone's account is theft and illegal.

I am in contact with police. Will also get in contact with trading standards after call to police

Lmao

If there is price gouging going on then there is no excuse for it
Its just simple supply and demand I’m afraid, these cards are so flipping good that the entire gpu internet crashed yesterday due to volume of people tying to get one. I couldn’t even access the big sites they just went down like dominos! With that much demand goes up and supply is limited then prices go up!

If I charge you £20 For something but then take 1000 from your account what do you think that is. Or is saying pound dropped 1% in value is ok for difference

I've explained to you in another post what's actually happened. The updated price will have been there for 99% of people before they confirmed the purchase. Refunds will be issued/offered to anyone that was charged more than the price they confirmed their purchase at.

If you check some of the other posts, people have received partial refunds. There is a finite capacity of staff working at OCUK and with the systems issues yesterday they will be flat out - they might have resorted to manually working through the orders. You'll get a refund eventually.

"But muh PS5 order went through fine" ...yeah game consoles are commodity items produced for 10 years at a time with tens of millions of customers, the batch sizes are likely orders of magnitude larger and on top of that they are sold as loss leaders anyway earning profit from licencing so they have no need to move prices around in the first place.

Might as well sell on [insert well known online 'auction' site here] then

Sorry I will missed post will not mention again.

Im hoping they issue my full refund soon so I am ready for nvidia when they restock, seems they are the only place not price gauging or taking payments for pre orders so they are the safest bet at grabbing a card anytime soon

Look what your posting is hilarious BUT if you feel you have a legitimate issue then you contact Trading Standards first, please do not waste the Police time here.
Secondly if you feel you have been treated unfairly then you are within your rights to cancel your order, which you can do here.

Alternatively if you are annoyed with stock issues then please send Nvidia a message and not stores that are trying their best to get stock.

psjohnson1984 - "Hello, Police? I wish to report a crime"
Police "Calm down sir, what is the nature of your emergency? Is somebody in immediate danger?"
psjohnson1984 - "Well no, but I was trying to buy a graphics card and a shop put the price up!"
Police "And was anybody hurt in the altercation?"
psjohnson1984 - "What? No it was on the internet. They scammed me"
Police "OK, so there some sort of fraud involved?"
psjohnson1984 - "Well no, I couldn't order the card because the site went down, But that's not the poi..."
Police - "So just to clarify, you are calling us because you attempted to place an order for a product and the shop changed the price?"
psjohnson1984 - "Yes, exactly!"
Police - "Stop wasting police time please" *Hangs up phone*

You mean Nvidia that let a bunch of bots gobble up 99% of their inventory? Good luck with that.

You missed the fifteen minutes where he has to explain what a graphics card is.

Ordered the Zotac 3080 Trinity and the time my order went through was 14:03:00 just before the site went down completely for me haha, any rough estimate on when it might be in my possession?

If the pound gets stronger.
The higher prices will stay, as they will say that they had prebought them when the exchange was worse so have to sell at the higher price.

Surely they bought the initial stock from Nvidea at a better exchange rate, so therefore could sell and still make a profit without raiding prices?

However, this is the unfortunate business side. Nvidea created the hype. Even if they have stock, they will play the 'we have limited stock' just so they can hike the prices to maximise profit.probably why they keep the 2080ti at a high price, so people think they are still getting a great deal at £700+

FE's will be out of stock for ages, due to how pricey the cooler was to manufacture. They have released enough to create the hype from the better chips for reviews.
These chips will now be saved for the 3080TI with 20GB memory that will be released probably around £850.

I guess we just have to pay whatever they ask us to pay. So much hype that people will pay it. This game is played everytime a product is released providing it gives a big enough jump.

I will eat my popcorn. Watch the fun unfold and see what happens with the new AMD card and chips. Looks like a Jan/Feb full build when all has settled
