***ArmA 3 Thread***

I don't play Arma3 much. But you should be able to alter the friendly & enemy skills in your game config (probably in your docs 'Arma 3'). It will have your user name on it. Make a copy first of the one there and put it in another folder (backup). Then alter the new copy renaming it to the original user name, then in properties mark it as 'Read Only' so the game doesn't overwrite it each time you exit. That way the settings should stick with your game.
Might have to keep going back to tweak, but its worth a try.
Better to try use an ai mod, many change the skill setting and you can tweak these via the userconfig in your game folder.

Just learned today something that will make many players happy that have wanted it for so long. There will be a KAI/lite version for arma 3 for sp/mp use. That is a real game changer, well the full version is, so I expect the lite version will change it considerably too. Not sure if it will be campaign friendly though.

Cheers mate. Will look into it. Last night I did find a difficulty setting in the UI and nocked it down to Recruit. I only had it on bloody regular!

The fatigue element was boiling my **** last night, so shaky the aim after sprinting for cover. A real game of patience.

I'm hooked. Making my way through the campaign atm, I did the steal the supply truck mission yesterday. Took me at least 10 attempts to escape, choppers just kept mowing me down. I had to watch a walk through in the end.

I am also hooked but I'm hooked on watching the video's of people who can actually play this game properly where as I am truly special at this bugger and keep getting destroyed.

Best game involving guns ever...... I'm just no good at it though.

Go into the editor and make some simple scenarios to get used to handling it. The best place is in the editor anyway. :D

Just wondered if you could help guys.

Ive noticed that Arma 3 is currently half price on steam and im very tempted to buy it. Im a bit concerned though about how in depth it is. Would you say its relatively easy to pick up and play or is it a game where you need a good few hours / days to know what you are doing ?

I also see there is an "Extended Edition", is that worth purchasing ?

I played the original Arma years ago and I enjoyed it a lot although that was years ago..

If you've played arma before then the learning curve shouldn't be *too* steep, but do be prepared to to give it a bit of time for all the quirks to sink in. Depends on the kinds of missions you fancy playing tbh.

Seeing as that extended edition gives you all the DLC for a fiver I'd say its well worth the extra.

Yeah see mission wise etc I have absolutely no idea. I take it there is a server browser and I just pick from there. And then mission instructions when it start ?

Im going to have to do some more research tonight and watch some streams..

You can go full arm chair general with trackir or you can just play something simple like king of the hill.

However don't expect a slick experience, it's buggy as hell.

Oh right ok. Hmmm I was hoping it would be a little more complete than that..

I can tell you now that all the streams will all be missions with rubbish performance and console like game play.

Would you be after Coop type of game (players vs AI) or more PvP orientated? Oh and it's really not as buggy as people make out :)

Hmm you see im not 100% sure to be honest. Im assuming that against the ai it will be slightly easier but I think ideally I would like to do more pvp orientated games. Such as King of the hill or a simple tdm type thing.

Cobra-UK

Try AhoyWorld servers for Player vs AI.

Right ok i'll look into that, thanks.

Ah right ok thanks. I did wonder whether they would be either super human or basically thick as ****. Im checking out some videos of Battle Royale mode on Arma 3 too.

Is there anything essential that I should download as well ? As in maps, modes or tweaks etc ?
