***ArmA 3 Thread***

It does seem to run pretty good, there are a few bugs, as expected during Alpha, but on the whole it doesn't seem bad.

I was on the OCUK server when it went down earlier, that weird guy was in my vehicle.

Your kidding right?

What settings are you running to enable that?

No post processing, no v sync. 2 x fxaa. Turned down visibility a little. I'll check them later and tell you 100%. I'm very surprised at how well the game runs!

I also set the CPU count to 8 so maybe that helps a bit.

How do I get into the game? When I click on a server to join, it says that I am connected, but all I see is player count screen with island map in the background ??

I can't click on OK button as it seems to be greyed out, whilst DISCONNECT button is highlighted

Yeah it was me :). I play a lot of wasteland on arma 2 in the ocuk server and now that I have arma 3 ill be on the ocuk server a lot too :). I'll see you on it again sometime :)

True, but they could add noise to the distant textures to boost visual quality, and just redesign the tree's and sorted, the game would be superb.

Adding noise would do nothing as you're using a low res texture at the wrong texel density. You're basically seeing large pixels of colour. LODs are horrible things to design and look at!

All AMD CPU's are NOT Hyperthreaded so Hyperthreaded options is highly not recommended as this can cause system failure or damage.
I will not be responible for system failure and damage if you choose to select more cores then you have on your command line!

sounds a bit OTT

i7 would be -cpuCount=8

Just jumped into the into mission thingy to see how it would run. Had to turn down AA and disable post processing and was a fairly stable 40-50fps. Quite impressed, looking forward to having a good long play to get used to the controls and game play style before jumping in online.
