Arsenal sign Reyes

He really is top quality and apparently is a done deal now.

Huge capture for Arsenal and well worth the money IMO.

Been saying someone will buy him for big bucks all season, wasn't convinced it was going to be a British club but I'm glad it is.

Someone will take Torres next.

I don't think i've ever seeen him play before but am quite happy he is coming after doing a bit of research. Certainly a bit of a coup, wonder what kind of wages he has been offered?

Is he eligible for europe still?

He can play for us in every competition which is really good news for us. Can't wait to see him for us and I do wonder where he will play, maybe as a left winger and let Bobby go upfront?

so the two big boys have new strike partnerships for the rest of the season. :D

Was talking to some fellow gooners about this the other day. We were linked with no one then when Saha went to Man utd suddenly we were being linked with strikers. I think Wenger knew he needed another striker and Man utd buying Saha may possibly be the reason he has gone into the transfer market so quickly.

Torres is very different to Reyes. They are completely different players. Torres will go soon but boy will he command a high fee, they have rejected like £25mill for him in the past.

Just heard he will wear the No.9 shirt so it is almost definite he will play upfront. Also signals the end of Jeffers :D

hehe wasn't Saha given the No.9 shirt as well?

yep Saha will wear No 9 for us too, this just goes to show how the PL is becoming the top league now as we can sign top talent.

Torres is amazing, first team regular since 16, got a good goal record and is club captain at 19 at a club like Atletico Madrid.

reyes will be pires's long term replacement i feel, he will play just behind henry.

So Arsenal get one of the top talents in Europe and a really exciting prospect who will actually make a huge impact on their team.

Man Utd get.. Saha.

Hmm!

If he clicks into our team quickly he could be one who helps us bring back the title. At times we have needed that little bit extra.

The dickheads on talksport saying the only reason we signed him us coz Henry is definitely leaving  When we don't buy then we are broke, when we do buy suddenly our best player is leaving.

Arsenal.com confirm he has signed for us.

Helluva lot of money, basically means we won't be able to buy anyone for the rest of 2004 and will probably let some people on phat contracts go in the summer (Wiltord, Bergkamp, Kanu).

Looking forward to see what he does, must admit I haven't seen him play so am only going on reputations here. I just hope the huge fee means the press/fans don't get on his back if he takes a few games to adjust to the Prem and doesn't set the world on fire in his first 5mins (queue comparisons with Forlan).

I'd go so far as to say it's an embarrasment for Man Utd really. Reyes is a world class player, the kind of player they should be looking to buy. They've really wound up with someone who's clearly not going to play more than a squad role for them.

He is good, not world class.............yet ;)

Some gooner on talksport said Guillem Balague said a few years ago that Vieira was seen in madrid and had pretty much signed for madrid and now this same guy is saying Henry is definitely going. LMAO :D Some manc sent an e-mail saying he will flop, then he says C.Ronaldo will do much better lol :D

Could be a good game on Sunday now, I can't wait.:D

I hear he is on his way to London right now to do his medical. He should complete it and sign tomarrow. So he should be available for Sunday :D

One thing I haven't seen mentioned yet, is could this perhaps be an indication that a certain Mr Henry could be on his way out in the summer to Real Madrid? RM have a habit of buying a galactico every summer you know...

Highly unlikely Henry would leave Arsenal, but as they say, stranger things have happened in football.

edit: OK, it has been mentioned :)
