AS & A Results Thread.

I was supposed to go and pick up my AS results today but I'm at work.

:(

Extreme tension till they come in the post for the lose.

Personal Estimations

Design and Tech - Systems and control = A/B
Government and Politics - British Politics = A/B
Physics = Anything above a fail does me, my teacher this year was ****
English = B/C
General Studies = this will be interesting.....

Not fantastic but I did try hard. :)

My final results.

Biology - E (A-level)
Chemistry - E (A-level)
Physics - E (AS-level, U at A-level so just cash in the E at AS)
General Studies - B (AS-level)

So no Uni for me.

Don't despair with bad results everyone.
You may not be able to get into the uni you first wanted but when I did my A-levels I got:

English Lit - E
Business Studies - E
Maths (Pure & Stats) - U

So that was a bit of a disaster but I managed to get a Uni via clearing and had the time of my life there.
Just speak to someone at your college.

my as-results, really happy

B-Maths
C-Physics
E-Chemistry (it was either a fail or pass, but its a pass so i can continue the course and hopefully try to bring up the grade)

Got my three to stay on in my 6th form :D

Although i failed Psychology which didn't surprise me one bit, it now means i don't have to continue with the c/w :p

However i failed general studies wtf, im sure its these forums filling me with racial propaganda views on muslims :p

Do the results eventually come in the post then? Coz I just looked on the college website and it says today!!!, and I cant get to get my results :( .

A2

English Language - C
Business Studies - D
ICT - E

Im fuming about the ICT exam results though. Teacher told me coursework (40%) would be high D or low C when it gets moderated. Turns out i got a U which has made me go from a C expected to an E :(

My brother got Physics A, Geography A, English Lit B (missed A by 1 pt), Mathes A, French A, General Studies A (at AS) = 640 pts!!

Could still get that English Lit remarked I suppose.

4 years ago I only got Maths A, Physics A, French A, Design C, Art&Graphics C (at AS) = 480 pts!

I graduated this year also, in Physics with Theoretical Astrophysics and was in Hugh Stewart hall in my first year (2004), what about you?

There's not doubt that A-levels are getting easier. All you have to do is look at a maths/history/whatever paper from 1988 and look at one from 2005 - you'll see a huge difference.

Not sure about that, but something is screwed. Loads of my sisters friends and a number of high flying friends at the local boys school got lower than their predicted grades, in most their subjects. Seems to be some prejudice against private schools it seems, something ive suspected for a while.

Screw labour the ***** !!!

Oooo nice subject, i did MEng Mechanical Design, Materials, and Manufacture. Was in ancaster in my 1st year in 2003, and to be honest it was rubbish. But became great friends with a load of people in sherwood, and lived with groups of them during my 2nd-final year. Now most of them are moving down or have already started work in london, and guess where im trying to go ;) :D

They kicked you out if you didn't get a certain grade?!:eek:

you need to pass to continue with the subject at a2, you can take up other as's etc but you don't really want to have to do that! Its just so the college maintain a high pass rate and look better in ofsted reports!

I got:

Computing: D
Electronics: E
Maths: U

But I'm still going to my first choice university (staffs) so I'm a happy bunny!! :D

Got a gap year to enjoy first though!!

Doesn't seem to fit in with...

Looked at over the five years since the Curriculum 2000 changes to the form of A-levels were made, the proportion of entries from independent and selective schools awarded an A has increased by about six percentage points.

This was double the rate of improvement in the majority of state schools.
