Media studies, is that browsing the net, reading the paper and watching the television?
Haha. It's English Literature but you use film and television instead of books and novels. :p

I love how derogatory people are towards it

Maybe becasue it is considered to be a mickey mouse course?

Going to Cambridge to study engineering in October! :D

I was bricking it over my final physics paper, I thought I'd screwed up and missed my A grade by a long way, but it turned out I did pretty well.

Well done to everyboday, i remember this time last year when i got mine, you feel so relieved and happy when you tried your best and got what you needed. Last year i got:

Bah I was going to make a thread :p

Awaiting my Applied IT AS Level DBL Award Results today...

Ok

I got a DE , which I suppose is ok. It's a pass so Im happy :) . could have done better but at least I get a chance at A2 to turn everything around :)

A - Maths
A - Further Maths
A - Physics
A - Chemistry

So, so happy.

Spent so much time on chem and managed to get the A. Well chuffed - by far the hardest subject at A level imo (then again I would completely fail english, history etc...)

Well done everybody.

I'm off to Imperial in October. Woot! To do physics :D

Wierdly my Imp letter arrived this morning before we left the house. Kinda ruined the surprise :)

ZOMG, you lot are so damn clever, I can't be bothered to say what i got.

Anyway is there not going to be one of those 'official whos going where' threads?

Yes it does. If someone doesn't try then that should be reflected in their grade.

It belittles the achievements of those who actually did well in their exams (not resits) and increases their competition for places in unis etc. If I do something time after time I'm going to be getting better and better marks. Do you really think that is a true reflection of my ability in the subject?

First time results should be everything to be honest.

Why? If someone got a mark the first time round and someone else got it second time round. Surely they are at the same level of knowledge in the subject, to have achieved the same score.

Becuase the first person had less time to prepare, less practice and is just generally better at the subject?

ts a joke that an "A" in media gets you the same number of points as an "A" in physics. Physics is blatantly far harder.

No it's not, do you think a student studying Media is applying to the same courses as a student studying Physics?

People resit for a number of reasons, don't be so ignorant. Both people are on the same level on that exam paper and that's the most important thing, irrelevant of resits.
