That's the last time that I'll believe anything you have to say :p :D

lol, you know what I seriously couldn't see it happening at that point.

Also, nevermind the fact they collapsed, what on earth happened to the runs? Had the players been playing as normal, just picking up runs along the way, they would have reached a much higher 2nd innings total which in itself would have took it away from Australia.

EDIT: OMG YIPPEEEEE

Pakistan fast bowlers Shoaib Akhtar and Mohammad Asif have had their bans for doping lifted with immediate effect. :D :D :D

I went to bed expecting the draw, then get up and was utterly astonished we managed to lose.

The batsmen had a fairly simple task, and failed. Hopefully this will wake the selectors up enough to bring in panesar, as despite failing with the bat, I think the problem is more with our bowling attack. We're in trouble because our bowling lineup can't take 20 aussie wickets on the flat pitchs they've prepared. Anderson/Giles aren't offering anything and with harmison out of form, you can't rely on flintoff and hoggard to bowl them out on their own.

If only giles had held that catch off ponting  I'm still not sure why he was fielding in the deep in the first place.

According to BBC news no team has EVER lost a match from the position we did - in the entire history of cricket.

Yep, I think thats the highest ever first innings score reached by a team who then declared... and went on to lose the game.

Unlucky though lads, I know exactly how it feels when your team falls apart like that, I support Pakistan afterall :p so damn unpredictable you never know whats gonna happen with us.

think of the positives, at least you got in the record books for something.....i feel another 19 years in the wilderness coming on.

I wouldnt go as far as that, you forget that most..actually all the current aussie squad are all over the age of 30...as Botham likes to call them....Dads Army...funnily enough Botham...Dads Army are spanking your side pretty badly lol:p.

But anyways, most of this squad wont be around for the next Ashes series...dont think Warne will be playing for much longer plus last yr he announced that he wont be playing in England for the Ashes but then ya never know...that guy is simply the best..i rate him higher than Murali whos pretty good himself but compared to Warney i dont think he has a patch on him...

But as i was saying...Aussies really havent got any decent youngsters that are coming up through the ranks but then you just never know...All i can say is get rid of that moron Fletcher and some of the selectors that havent got a clue and England should be fine.

Circumstances are really against us in this series and even if we lose 5-0 I put us firm favourites for the next Ashes.

Why?? because last yr England won the ashes on a pure fluke??...you got lucky last yr plain and simple. Tbh id put my money on the Aussies coming here and whooping your sorry asses:p. In fact id rather put money on Pakistan winning the World Cup next yr without Asif and Akhtar;):p

The simple fact of the matter is that if England had a fully fit side, I'd back us to win the Ashes, but no Trescothick, Vaughan or Jones and Harmison, Giles and Flintoff coming off injuries and not enough preparation meant that we're well under-strength compared to last year and don't have the strength in depth either.

As for Pakistan, yeah right. :p

Total disaster on Englands part. Australia were 10-1 to win the match before the final day started with the draw at 1-5 and England 9-2. For so many supposedly world class players to freeze is beyond belief.

To make it worse, a horse called Warne's Way won at 9-2 today whilst another horse called Flintoff finished elsewhere in 2nd place.

This will destroy the team. The have established their success on a gritty, tough and professional approach to the game, whereby they DIDN'T simply give their wickets away. The reason that this is so disappointing is not that they got out and lost, but that they got themselves out and lost.

Upsetting to see the spin attempts were confined to the post match commentary rather than Giles on the pitch - references to incredible bowling by Lee and Warne was laughable. They both bowled excellently, but on a very good pitch and a quick review of the wickets falling (Pietersen, Flintoff and Jones all literally giving their wickets away) demonstrates this.

Only bright spot is that this must surely be the end of the line for Giles and Jones. If it isn't, then it should be the end of the line for Fletcher.

trescothick injured? more like folded the same way the english side did today. when was giles ever any good? harmison has had a decent amount of practise and should be doing much better. vaughan is of course massively missed so the curse falls to out of form freddy who obviously cant cope, waving his bat outside off stump when all he needs to do is put on a few runs.

i agree they just threw it away, at least it made it exciting, the other 4 days were pretty lack luster but id be suprised if they can come back from this. not even the selectors are helping.

Just looking back over some reports from the 2005 series, I think we're missing Simon jones more than anything. Reminded myself that he took 18 wickets at 21 in the four tests he played. Whereas so far Anderson has managed 2 at 150 odd. Thats our problem, we can't bowl them out twice at the moment.
