Asrock Z68 Extreme 7

well good to hear about the e-sata, what htc phone do you have? I have the original desire(not the hd, the one with the slide out keypad or the s).

crezzlin is it just the eyfinity you're have the problem with? does it work ok with xfire on 1 monitor?

hopefully I'll finally get around to swapping out the q6600 etc for the i2500k etc in a couple of weeks.

hi yeah just with eyefinity, works fine with 1display, i dare say if i had display port monitors it would work, just of that the extreme4 don't have the same proble,

must be gutted mate, hope they get it sorted soon. you could post on the TT forum and see if you can get an official response or get them to look in to the problem

4.8 sounds great :D is that on air?
hi sorry not been on for a bit, was running on a Craig h50 i think a good air cooler would do better. Hows yours

Was thinking of one of these boards for a new build, but it seems some people are having problems with the bios and other issues.Trouble is I think the actual board itself has a lot of good up to date features, but I don't obviously want to buy an unreliable board so.......

Can anyone re assure me that this board is generally ok and reliable as I am so tempted.

Mark

I use this board no problems what so ever fantastic bit of kit :) running at 4.410 on 1.26v rock steady, all my peripherals, work perfectly.

Hi Wab,

Thanks for the response - well I have now ordered this board, but delivery from ocers is being held up by other bits being out of stock.Might be back to you for a few tips once it all arrives and I get it built.

Cheers

Mark

Could any please tell me what I should install off the CD? So far i've installed the LAN drivers, Audio drivers and RST drivers.

I haven't yet installed INF Driver, Onboard VGA Driver, Marvell SATA3 Driver and ME Driver simply because i dont know what they are/do.

I also haven't installed any of the Utilities for much the same reason.

Thanks

Nothing tbh. Get it from their website or the Intel website for the latest versions.

What exactly is the INF driver though and should i install the latest version from the Asrock website? What about the ME Driver?

Thanks

Sli...

Hey guys I was about to buy this board untill i read a few posts on this thread

Can anyone confirm that the board is actually running ok with all features working? (with latest bios)

Does anyone have SLI running ok if so how many cards and how many monitors? setup? results etc?

can anyone confirm the warranty that comes with this product? as that is one of the other things off putting to me....is it really only 1 year? compared to most asus/gigabyte/msi boards which have 3 years it seems a little short to me.

Thanks
Phil

Hi Phil, i'm running this motherboard in SLI with 3x 580's. It's a very nice board, the layout is fantastic for SLI as the cards are double spaced so each double slot graphics card has a spare slot to breathe. The latest bios fixed the mouse issues for me (they were the only ones i were experiencing) and since then i'e not had a bit of trouble. Great board.

Hi Phil,

Yes there have been some issues with mouse control in the UEFI and some PCIe problems. Certainly both have been solved and we're waiting a BIOS that combines the solutions. The inverted mouse issue in the UEFI hasn't been much of an issue as it is really easy to manage with the keyboard. The PCIe issue seemed to affect people using Creative Sound cards but they appear to have been fixed as well.

As for SLI I have two GTX480's running and an 8800GTX for Physx. You have to have the first SLI card in slot 1 which is one of the PCI-e 3 slots I think, due to my water bridge I initially couldn't do that but it's fine now.

I have been running mine at stock while I get these issues resolved but have just turned on the first overclocking step to 4Ghz and no issues at all.

Asrock have been very responsive over at the TweakTown forums where you'll find the latest info on progress.

Yes I believe there is only a 1 year warranty but then it's cheaper and I think has slightly different/better specs to the mainstream boards.

I'm happy with mine.

Andi.

Just wanted to tell everyone that Asrock just released another BIOS update ver. 1.30 on their site for the Z68 Extreme 7 Gen3.

The note say:

1. Patch Creative PCI audio card.
2. Patch Logitech MX518.

Congratulations on your first post.

It's only taken nearly four years.

We look forward to hearing from you again in 2015.

Well you know how it is when your across the pond, you know USA have one of the slowest internet infrastructure in the world! ;) Hopefully I will post more now that I got my Asrock z68 Extreme 7 up and running.:D

hey guys,

Got my extreme 7 in now and I can confirm it works fine with the revodrive :D however I must be doing something really wrong as I can't get the LAN driver to work.

I don't have an optical drive on my PC so have downloaded the LAN drivers (broadcomm?) from asrocks site off my netbook :p

However I can't seem to get any to work?! Has anyone got a different driver I could use.

OS is windows 7 Ultimate 64bit.
