Asrock Z68 Extreme 7

hey guiys, a strange question here.

I am changing the board in my rig over to the Extreme 7 but I am concerned that my revo drive may not be compatible.

Anyone else using a original OCZ revodrive in an Extreme 7?

I know I will find out when i build the rig back up but just wanted to ask first :p
 
ok so the cooler is also sorted, was originally planning on using the arctic freezer 7 pro rev2 then got tempted by the gelid tranquillo but have ended up ordering the ocuk h20flo so ram fins wouldn't be an issue(should have ordered the ripjawx before the price went up). now just need to decide on the ram and the sound card(asus xonar d2x or titanium fatality).

I wish :D but im curious to see if it does work, i hear the NF200 controller is notorious for latency when using raid cards and in some cases they dont work. keep us posted :)

almost there mate, have you got a link for the h20flo cant seem to find it? thanks
 
Am I right in thinking that Extreme4 (whatever the Gen might be) is effectively the same board as the Extreme7 but that the 7 board will have a bit more functionality as opposed to a raw speed improvement?

The latest Beta Bios 1.11 greatly improves NF200 learning and hence startup but still I get inverted mouse controls in the UEFI. I've reported it to Asrock but not had a reply yet.

Sadly the 2 slot spacing meant I had to buy a new water bridge.

G skill sniper(~£50-£55) or corsair vengeance(£40-50), if I go vengeance ocuk have blue for £40(today only) but colour not matching the rest of the colour scheme(apart from the case(red, thinking about changing in future) everything else is black, mb, CPU cooler, graphics card(well blue pcb but you don't see it and a design on the cooler), fans).

Yeah the Extreme7 just lets you use 3 GPU'S and also better spacing of the cards, about it really.. I’m getting better results with a extreme4 crossfire setup than I am with the extreme7 but only a little.

ok so after taking ages deciding I've gone for the 8gb corsair vengeance jet black pc3-12800 1600mhz cas8 @£57.50 over the cas9 which was £14 cheaper@£43.40

was looking at the 8gb g skill sniper pc3-12800 1600mhz c9 1.25v version but ended up with the corsair.

should have the cooler and ram tommorw so I can make a start with the upgrade from q6600 to i2500k and 6950 xfire :)

cool, will have to grab the beta bios once i get another card thanks mate :)

i heard about the inverted mouse issue seems to be a compatibility issue with certain mouses hopefully theyll bring a new updated bios out soon.

have you tried the beta bios as suggested above? i was afraid of the NF200 latency issue in sli and tri sli setup but couldnt resist the extreme 7 charm lol

another step closer lol, sorry missed your post regarding the h2flo thanks for that mate, was tempted but i think ill save for a high end WC kit and then overclock :D
 
well the cooler and ram arrived in the past hour so I now have everything I need to put the pc together and get it working, now just need to stop being lazy and spend a day building the pc :)

still not decided on the soundcard but can just pop that in later if I've not decided on it by the time I've built the pc, couldn't start untill I had decided on the ram but thats sorted now.
 
I built mine up on the desk just a couple of days ago to make sure all was working as it should. Just need to get it into my case and redo some of the WC loop (adding another one) and all should be good
 
nope had it on ide when I installed windows.

do I need to install achi drivers? not built the new system yet, what do I need to do when I come to install win7 on the cruicial m4? does achi make a difference over ide?
 
Well my builds been put back by another 3 weeks as I wouldn't be in the country, just hope I don't find that things don't work when I finally get to building it.
