Assange to go!

It would have MUCH wider repercussions other than upsetting Ecuador. It would destroy our international status with most/all countries.

The threats to enter were just that, threats, designed to try and scare them to kick him out. They called our bluff. As much as I believe we should be able too get him out as they are harbouring a suspected rapist, we're not going in any time soon and rightly so.

It's REALLY frustrating, but that's just the way it is.

Don't you get it? I'm not talking about Ecuador. Once you set a precedent that your country can and will find ways around the Vienna Convention if it deems it neccesary, then it becomes about far more than just one country.

Fair enough, what an incredibly frustrating situation though.

The morons 'cheering' for him outside of the embassy must be insane.

Guy is a self deluded, arrogant, **** then?

We've known that for years. Hes scum and I wise we would deport it to America.
He is some of the wort society has to offer.
He's not done out of any good, he knw his actions would lead to deaths and aggression. Yet he did it anyway. Total scum.

I agree with this, it was nothing more than a) a scare tactic, b) showing we are trying to uphold the laws we are bound to.

Who is calling for his head, if there are rape charges against him he should stand trial for them, surely?

Or should he get a free pass?

Correct me if i am wrong but the rape charge was dropped and only after the Wikileaks furore was he charged again?

There are no official charges. They were dropped. Which has been pointed out throughout this thread. But apparently people on the side that want his head, can't get that into their own head.

I'm unsure.

If there are no charges, why doesn't he leave...

Why would Sweden be trying to stitch him up?

There are no charges because they can't charge him until he's there. There is still a warrant for his arrest, hence why we want to arrest him and send him there.

I got a little confused when he was speaking about falling off the precipice in their pursuit of journalists and the threat to Freedom of Expression, prosecuting journalists, oppression of citizens and so on.....was he speaking about Ecuador, because it seems strange if he was only refering to the United States given Ecuador's arrest and imprisonment of journalists who are critical of the Ecuadorian President etc.....

Assange is full of **** tbh.

You mean there's no charges as he hasn't been questionioned yet.
The legal systems are reasonably different. They want to question him on a statutory charge, so they do not need the victims cooperation.

But his wiki leaks is a far bigger crime and I wish America would just issue an arrest/extradition papers.

Freedom of speech, is not freedom from responsability.
Lots of speech can and does get you gpbreaking laws. You are not free to do anything you want for a good reason. He's nothing but scum and deluded. He can't even see how much of a scum he is.

Leave where? The embassy? To be snatched by the British police, extradited to Sweden and held until the American's have compiled their kangaroo court evidence where they'll sentence him to life inside some of the most brutal prisons in the world, for daring to expose the criminal behaviour of the US military in the middle east?

Other than that I don't really know.

Why would Sweden be trying to stitch him up?

You should know by now that when America says jump most countries ask how high. Just look at the raid they had the NZ special forces mount to arrest Kim Dotcom.

Uh oh, there's that 'tin foil hat' agenda...

I think it's pretty important for whistle-blowing to be allowed, wikileaks have gone about it the wrong way though by releasing pretty much everything even if there is nothing dodgy going on.

Do you think they have released everything, if the America felt embarrassed before wait until Assagne is extradited.
