Assange to go!

Maybe it won't, I suppose there's always a chance he will live happily ever after. I wouldn't put my faith in the authorities though.
Well they just pardoned/released that other chap, didn't they. And his involvement was to directly pass on state secrets, where Assange just ran a website which published leaked material.

Assange while the Swedish case was still being pursued: 'I wish I could get out of this embassy. If only the Swedes would drop their case!'

Assange after the case is dropped: 'I intend to stay in this embassy for the foreseeable future. You can't get me out!'

The only justified fear he has is of being given a fair trial for rape allegations against him. Everything else is a fantasy of his own making highly inconsistent with reality.
lets see what happens if he ever leaves the embassy. Personally after being cooped up in there I wouldn't be surprised if he has developed some mental issues.
But, just because you're paranoid doesn't mean they are not out to get you...

Well first of he'll be arrested by the Met, then we'll find out if the rhetoric from the US government means they have given the UK government an extradition request. Something the government won't publicise until he is arrested...

Therein lies the rub. Do you chance it and hope that the US is just bluffing?

You mean Obama did, and likely as a electoral tactic more than anything, but who knows. That isnt happening again.

Assange loses again:

Wikileaks founder Julian Assange has lost one legal bid to have a UK arrest warrant against him quashed but immediately launched another, to have the British authorities halt any action against him on public interest grounds.

A ruling in Mr Assange's favour could pave the way for him to leave the Ecuadorean embassy in London where he has been holed up for more than five years.

Wow, he's still there? Man, his self-imposed imprisonment to avoid state-imposed imprisonment doesn't seem to be helping him much. How long is it now?

The conditions he's living in are arguably worse than many prisons... confined to a single room last I heard.

Why does the media insist on indulging the fantasy that running from justice and hiding amounts to some form of detention that the UK is somehow responsible for?I

The only person responsible for his current situation is Julian assange

Given that the UK and Sweden have manufactured charges(*) for the sole purpose of sending him to the USA for secret trial and summary conviction for whistleblowing, they do bear some responsibility for him seeking asylum.

* Both the women in Sweden have publically stated that he did not rape them and they did not accuse him of doing so.

Angilion in predictable conspiracy theory nonsense post.

Conspiracy nonsense, neither the uk or Sweden would need to make up anything if the aim was to send him to the USA, the USA would just need to ask like they normally do.

There is a certain hilarity to the Assange case, in order to escape possible prosecution for rape he has spent six years under self imposed house arrest, despite the Swedish penalty for a rape conviction being on average only 2-6 years. At the same time he made up his nonsense about the USA wanting to extradite him in order to deflect his fanboys attention away from the fact that his "she didn't say no so it's okay" defense is technically an admission of guilt.

Fast forward six years and it's gone on so long that Sweden have had to drop their case because the time limits have expired so now there's no need to extradite him there. Which sounds great for him except he's still wanted for jumping bail in the UK and as the Swedish extradition order was the one thing making it impossible for the USA to request extradition, that is now a possibility should they choose to pursue it and they just elected a populist right wing president, which means the story he invented about the USA wanting him could become a self fulfilling prophecy as it's something Trumps been hearing about for six years now.

Talk about shooting yourself in the foot, the moron has taken a minigun to his lower torso XD
