Assassins Creed 3: American Revolution

I kinda agree with everything you've said (although I played it on the 360).

For me, it's only really just picked up at Sequence 6, but not by much. I've absolutely no affinity with Connor at all, compared to Ezio he's a shallow chararcter with seemingly no charm at all. I'd have rather stuck with Hayden, who seemed to have more layers - well voice acted too.

And I used to love the Assassination side-quests on AC2, but these (10 so far) have all just been some guy walking around the perimiter of a building

Another irritation is the fact that opportunities for a proper stealth approach are limited - I've been trying to take the Forts by complete stealth, but there are so many guards in there, and no real distraction techniques, that it seems nigh-on impossible, so it ends up being a massive skirmish (and, as you've pointed out, taking on 8+ guards isn't hard so you may as well go brute force).

Seems more action orientated, too much hand-holding in quests, too much 'walk-cutscene-walk-cutscene' moments and very little scope to approach missions.

That, and endlessly running through the empty fields of America feels far less epic than scurrying across the rooftops of 15th century Rome....

Ok my game is now again asking for the key when launching from Uplay and is now saying it is invalid..

Think I will buy a boxed version from shopto and steer clear of these key sites..

I had a free key for this with my 670 - didnt realise I would have to go through faffing to get it installed - why couldnt they give me a steam key rather than a ubisoft one

Is there some sort of launcher I need to download in order to download AC3 from the ubistore? What happens if I build a new rig, is the ubisoft downloader like steam where I can download it again and again if need be?

On the plus side, at least I got borderlands 2 and that was a nice easy steam install :)

You can download direct from Ubisoft. This link is to download the official download tool from CJS. When you first run the game it asks for your key.

They are all risky tbh - I only ever use G2play when I do pick up a key.

Yeah I know should have not bothered. Another thing is I have been spam free for months now. Buy this game from CJS and this afternoon I have had loan emails, insurance claimback and payday loans.

Seems like they also pass on your details which is worrying.

Green Man Gaming giving me this every time I try and install.

Downloaded twice now and at 2 hours each time it's getting a bit tedious. A zip file for a 16GB game? Seriously??

That sucks mate :\ Sorry I cant be much help!

As a note if anyone running a crossfire setup is getting poor performance try turning it off. In the towns I am now getting an extra 20fps. Go figure.

Really liking how atmospheric walking around is. Also loving the new control system. Sli wasn't working had the change the sli setting in nv control centre to screen 2 (can't remember what the actual setting name was on my phone atm) now in game run nice and smooth but in the map/pause. Menu is very sluggish. Consider me a confused ginger

About an hour or so in, but have spent much longer getting as far as meeting this indian native bird with Hatham because firstly - the controls are an utter mess, secondly - I've already encountered four bugs including the best one where haytham's sword was stuck in the middle of a bar fight as part of the main mission.

The game feels like a complete mess to me and I love the AC series and overall story. Granted I am not even remotely anywhere into the game but I am just not impressed. It feels and plays rubbish so far.

Too many cutscenes quite literally everywhere. Buying items from vendors, why do I have to delve into menus when it was so simple previously?

Do you guys know if uplay backs up saves online? I want to reinstall windows, if i just sign back in to uplay after will it have my saves backed up?
