Assassin's Creed Odyssey

Not as bad as setting yourself on fire trying to burn a box...

Today's low...found a fishing village, that's handy maybe there are quests there, run in...no it's hostile - 15 bandits and a bear start chasing me just for walking into the entrance. Chased me into the sea, clearly I couldn't let that stand so I went back and taught them some manners. They didn't even have any treasure.

HAHAHA, I think its the same place I came across when clearing the question marks, another one near by. That is one of the two places I need to come back to, even forts are not as hard!

So, started playing the game earlier, just wanted to do some exploration. Walked from the dock to the smith at Megaris, then as leaving the smith a lvl 38 Mercenary rode past close enough to get the notice about him. Seconds later a lvl 34 rode past to, in the other direction. I was like whoa, what's going on ?

Carefully I set out to do my exploration, and as I come up on a smaller mountain top, I accidentality had walked into the area next to Megaris and saw loads of red skulls, so turned back (Turned out to be lvl 39 NCP's). Once back in Megaris another Mercenary riding past down below, opening the interface to look at who it is, turns out it was a lvl 50 one !

During the rest of my gameplay I also saw the lvl 44, 16, 15, 12 and the lvl 9 which I marked and later hunted down. Later during a quest when I had to kill a politician I was spotted and a lvl 10 Mercenary come running whom I had to kill. Up to level 12 or so I can be ok with but seeing lvl 30+ NCP's running around in the area was not exactly what I was looking for ! :p

On another note, not sure if this is a bug though but... I picked up a quest called Dangerous Fangs, hunt down 5 dangerous animals in Megaris. As I was exploring, well was actually scouting with my Falcon when the quest suddenly was completed out of the blue ! Had the same with another quest where I was suppose to kill x amount of bandits, also just completed without me doing anything. Has this happened to anyone else of you too ??

Yep the borders between regions are very soft...don't accept a quest to defend someone unless you are sure which zone you are in!

Something weird is going on with my game. Just had a look at the 'Mercs' tab on the menu and it is saying I have only killed two in total. Also most are showing as undiscovered even though I know I have killed quite a good few and I didn't have that many undiscovered before.

I was thinking different mercs for different regions, as that confused me also..

Ive always assumed that its like a league table, where as you bump one off they get replaced by someone from a lower list who gets promoted up to fill in the positions.

Ubisoft still releases a beautiful open world as in Origins, except that it is much less empty and boring. The RP side and narration of choice quests adds a real something to the game. And they did not make the mistake of removing what made Origins successful by renewing the series just to do things differently

Hit the level 50 mark with 19% of game complete. Been doing all the question marks and still only done about 50%-60%, world is massive. On the otherhand not doing the main quest past getting a boat means I can't invest any perks so have 25 to invest :p

Loving the engraving on weapons and armour. My poison and over powered attacks do so much damage now that I’ve stacked most pieces with one or the other.

Is the story that bad?!

The story is decent so far, I am shocked. Finally some decent RPG elements in an AC game. It works really well.

Not really a spoiler, but just in case:
I enjoyed the quest where they asked me to change a document by using stealth. Of course I just barge in completely in view. I didn't fail the quest, so thought nothing of it. However, it completely changed the dialogue at the end of the quest, I wasn't expecting it at all.

Out of curiosity, but when do you start getting some decent loot ?? All I'm mostly getting is grey stuff still at lvl 11. Also wondering is there any more hoods dropping the higher level you get, or just helmets ?? Don't really like the look of any helmets, prefer the hood really. :o In worse case have to upgrade stuff but cost tons of resources, which is needed for the ship as most know. So just wondering if the above happens as you get higher level or just random pot luck ? :p

Looks wise the loot seems to get better/shinier at higher levels. In terms of rarity, I got legendary items almost straight away - mainly from stronger enemies and exploration.

I didn’t get hoods til later on, around level 20 I started getting a lot more - off cult members I guess.

Just keep on going as you'll be swimming in it later (Lv25+). Good helms seem rare from my experience but there is a great quest one related to an animal later on - I forget where :o I wouldn't touch upgrading with a barge pole unless you REALLY need it or have a legendary that you want to carry with you. You're just better off saving the resources for major end game gear or it'll be a grind to re-acquire those precious gems again for example.

You can pick up some excellent gear (epic-legendary) for killing mercs, hunting legendary animals and of course the main baddies in the game. Sea based warefare nets you mostly trash loot from ships, which is useful for dismantling.

Anyone else done the
that leads you to Atlantis. I have one more to find, which i up in Lesbos. Have to say the beasts haven't been as hard as I would have liked. The two I have had to fight have been beaten using the bow and arrow with every engraving possible to up the Hunter stats.

Discovered Atlantis yesterday. I used to read about it as a child so to say I was excited as hell is an understatement. I'm hoping to start the quest to find the components required today though.
