Assassin's Creed Odyssey

New v1.1.0 and v1.1.1 patch have gone live including mastery changes and what have you. Legendary sets for most the part seemed to just double their bonus, i.e 50% burning rate now 100%, 50% crit damage with warrior abilities now 100%.

So overpowered now :D

Dear god. Fire is so OP with the mastery skills maxxed out :o
I respecced my main skills again dropping most of the hunter/assassin skills and used the excess points for Fire and Warrior mastery. Didn't get a chance to check out the Agamamamanenon legendary set stats though!

The update amongst bug fixes lays the foundations for the upcoming DLC alongside new mythical creatures being added to the world. They've beefed up the Adreista already with the last update meaning it'll likely take on tougher challenges in future, and now they've made use of excess levels with the mastery feature in order to beef up Alexios/Kass.

Got to admit. As much as I've slagged off the game for it's cut & paste world, Ubisoft are doing a stellar job supporting the game compared to the way they handled the mess that is FarCry 5.

Is anyone running this on an overclocked monitor? mine is refusing to move out of Borderless mode and some googling suggests it's likely to be the clock on the monitor. Anyone experienced this or know of ways around it, short of removing the overclock?

Managed to fly home from abroad for the weekend, so got some Odyssey in :D

93 hours played, 68% complete now. Getting there !

Sadly, back off abroad for work again now, wont be back til Christmas, so will give it another stint then.

Just loaded up for the 1st time in awhile and just started the new DLC. PC was crashing last night but worked out it was bad ram timings so can now get some time in over the weekend on this.

This is the first AssCreed game I've played since Brotherhood (didn't finish it, didn't motivate me at all) and I am loving it! I'm only about 20% through the main story and have played it for over 30 hours.

It's a shame that its performance is kinda sketchy, unless you lock it to 30fps (thanks, consoles...)

I was about to come and say I was struggling to run this on my old 280x. I've seen that other high end cards are struggling to run this as well.

I'm going to lock it to 30 FPS to try and reduce slowdowns etc.

It can run at decent frame rates with a bit of tweaking (some settings have no discernible visual impact when lowered a notch or two but give a nice performance bump) but built up areas always bring the figures tumbling down to the 30's/40's at 1080p with a Vega 56.

I finally sussed why this crashes on splash screen... It's because I have a second monitor plugged in. As soon as I unplug the second screen, the game launches.
That's strange. I have 3 monitors hooked up and have no issue launching the game. I just had to try when I read your post and it's working just fine. Glad it working for you now though but you might want to check further, since you should be able to use 2 monitors at the same time. But if you not to bothered about it, then ignore this post. :p

I've just started playing this. I loved origins but I'm actually not finding it that easy to get in to. To me it feels too light if you know what I mean...the character glides across the land and up buildings quickly with no feeling of weight behind it. Some people thought the climbing had been too dumbed down and was too easy on origins, but I disagreed and thought it was fine. I am starting to feel it with Odyssey though.

On a positive though, I like the extra rpg-like elements a lot and it looks great. I am playing as the woman and she seems like a good protagonist so far.
I'm also especially pleased with the extra hud options, which is something I posted about a lot on the feedback threads on Ubisofts forum. I'm playing with basically no hud, but I want to know what loot I pick up and have a tracker when I choose one.

I'm in no doubt I'm going to enjoy it a lot.

This game seems to be going on for ages! Is there no end? Saying that, I’m quite enjoying exploring the map trying to find all the baddies. This must be one of, if not the biggest, open worlds there has even been.

And as is convention in the later Ubisoft games, I have an animal tamed to join in with the fights. Although my brown bear just fell off a rock ledge and died.
