Assassin's Creed Odyssey

This game seems to be going on for ages! Is there no end? Saying that, I’m quite enjoying exploring the map trying to find all the baddies. This must be one of, if not the biggest, open worlds there has even been.

And as is convention in the later Ubisoft games, I have an animal tamed to join in with the fights. Although my brown bear just fell off a rock ledge and died.

I finally managed to 100% the map and main quests, with 107 hours played, so yeah its pretty large :)

Due to having a bad leg, I have invested in a lapboard, hooked my pc up to my 4K tv and have tested the set up with this game. All I can say is that it is glorious, looking even better than Witcher 3 and thats high praise. I have never played an AC game before but needed something to take me away from the train-wreck WoW has become and this game definitely ticked all the boxes. Sure it can be a little repetitive but I do love how you can hunt down the cultists using the clues and other little side chains also add to the enjoyment.
I have also purchased AC Origins on the back of just how good this game was and can't wait to see what they have planned for the next game.

I've put a few hours in to it now. It has opened up and seems to be moving along nicely.

The only thibg I'm disappointed with is the animations. Nowhere near as good as Origins. Running looks weird and the horse animations in particular are poor. They just look sped up. No horse can go as fast as they do in this!... Maybe this is amplified coming from Red Dead, which has the best horses ever in a game.

Yeah but in Odyssey you can have one of these :D

Oh my days, what an epic time I’ve just had.

Fighting the Minotaur on Crete. I was beginning to give up hope on there being any creatures from Greek mythology but there it is! I hope there’s another one or two more to find. Very clever how they tied it all to the First Civilization stuff.

This is easily the best Assassins Creed game yet.

More than two :)

I find it crap to origins.

Just feels like a DLC pack for origins but worse in most ways, feels more arcadey (especially the movement) and giving me multiple dialogue choice for 10 minutes every time I encounter a NPC = zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. Also, the graphics don't look as good and the map/setting in general feels empty compared to orgins.

Just screams as a quick and easy cash grab piece.

Supposedly the two games were developed simultaneously side by side rather than one coming before the other so to speak, Origins was developed by Ubisoft Montreal and Odyssey was developed by Ubisoft Quebec, so if thats true its not the case that they rushed this one out the door to grab cash after Origins. Guess it might indicate that the Montreal team is better than the Quebec team, although I love both games anyway.

Got to say I'm not finding this anywhere near as good as Origins.

I don't get these mercenaries. I was just walking through a town when one appeared and attacked me... OK, but it also caused every guard in the town to attack me, including one which just gave me a quest!

I don't get it. When they killed me I just spawned 10 feet away with everyone friendly again. Meh.

That is strange, never knew that to happen. Unless they were cult guards?

I don’t mind the mercenaries unless there are three or four after you simultaneously. I’ve been recruiting them to my ship. Only about five more to kill I think before I take the top spot.
