Assassin’s Creed Origins

Just completed the main story, ending is a little rushed but it's cool little historical tableaux and sets up the next game(s) well.

Only 80% complete and level 39, so I've got tons of stuff to do still thankfully.

All the Trials are now available in game btw. Enjoyed running through them yesterday. You seem to be able to re-do them, but only get the item rewards once.

So, think my FPS drops are linked to CPU usage. My GPU (1080) is sitting at 70-80% with all settings maxed at 1080p 144Hz. Dropping settings to minimum my CPU still sits at 100%.
It's a 4670k at 4.5GHz.

No other game seems to chew it up that much!

Fantastic looking game but also a hardware ballbuster. Finding that its best to disable HDR as well that saps a lot of FPS & also makes some desert sections blinding white so much so that you cannot see anything at all its overpowering they went to OTT on the HDR so you cannot even see the gfx properly at times. AA on adaptive also works best FPS wise & resolution also plays a big part. In cities the FPS are a real slog but outside in the desert the FPS are much better so lose some people from the cities as well helps a bit.

I only have the normal AA settings low/med/high/v.high - do you mean set dynamic resolution to 60fps?

The main story quest was fairly short even with plenty of side quests done before hand, not got all the map opened up yet on level 40 and 43 hours played, now got plenty of grinding to do for complete finish of game.

I've had the game since launch and after 24 hours I'm still only level 23 40% progression. Loving every minute of it, but each patch has reduced my framerate quite a bit with fps dropping to low 25s in some places (on a 4.2 i7 with 1080 20gig ram 3440*1440 maxed)

I'll never get to try the 'trials' at this rate !!

eefek, that's exactly what's happening to me. I bought it a month or so ago and it ran like butter - smooooooth. Then a couple of patches hit and performance has dropped massively since but only in cities - particularly Memphis.

I had the same, ran smooth then after a couple of patches the performance dropped. However I found that if I started the game, then alt-tabbed and ran the task manager and changed the .exe priority to normal, it went back to being smooth again. Just a pain that I have to do that each time

I bought this last night and played for the first time this evening, 2 hours in and I'm on my way to Alexandria or whatever it is.

I'm struggling to get used to combat, I can sneak but I'm pretty rubbish at close combat.

Looks fantastic, it's munching my system up though, my poor little 1060 is needed to be upgraded me thinks.

I made it to Alexandria last night and my 6700k took one helluva pumping. She runs at 4.4GHz but even that speed couldn't satisfy demand. It's the only time I've seen 100% on every core out with a benchmark or video edit.

I didn't even think to check my CPU, just made the assumption it was GPU. I've got a 6600k at 4.3, best get overclocking tonight.

Don’t use the lock system, remember to dodge, find a weapon that sets them on fire. I used a septre in the beginning while I got used to combat as it hits everyone around you.

Yup, this will push your cpu to the max.
