Assetto Corsa Competizione

It's Donnington this weekend. No doubt I'll be near the back again, I'm a tad outside the 1.28s in the Aston. Hoping for a clear run this time round.

The joys :D

Is this a particular group that you are racing with or a website or something ?

I see Race department have some races lined up that im interested in, just not sure aboiut the 1hr+ races that everyone seems obsessed with. Much prefer the 20-30 minute sprint races.

This is the best driving game I've ever played in my life.

It is so good when you get into it. I reckon its one of the hardest to master I've ever played, although the original AC was tough too.

I've learnt far more car control and racing skills on this than any other game and it's given a great sense of accomplishment finally starting to get better at it.

Second that about the online racing, everyone seems to just want to ram you off, especially if you do accidently knock someone like I did the other night the person came after me the rest of the race. I've been joining the simgrid races as they are a lot better everyone keeps to racing.

I've found the online races in ACC to be pretty well mannered. I got talked into playing Forza 7 cross platform with a friend on xbox the other week and it was just like destruction derby. Totally unplayable. To be fair although it looks pretty the handling/physics is a joke after playing ACC anyway.

Must just be certain servers, what's your SA sitting at? I'm at 46 and a lot of servers I see seem to be 47+ I'm not sure if it just round up or what. I've been playing forza 7 since it came out and it is quite mixed. I ended up sending/recieving friends requests of "decent" drivers and seem to see the same people a lot.

Also has your TR went down with the introduction of the new courses?

Yeah some races are really good and others are absolutely terrible but I think it's just luck of the draw.

Having said that I really like the game I think the force feedback and the physics are really top-notch. I especially like the sound when you're in the car, it just sounds so genuine and authentic.

How does everyone rate the 2018 Bentley GT3 car? I've been doing some practise with it the last few nights at it feels really nice to drive, the traction is an issue with an XBONE controller as it wants to light up its tyres quite often. Is there a way to control how much throttle is applied on the triggers?

I guess not as it's geared towards wheels and pedals but would make life a bit easier :)

Tbh ive only ever used the Porsche. I knew nothing about any of the cars, i just drove them all and liked the look and sound of the Porsche and that was that.

As for traction, play around with the TC / TC2 settings, I usually run mine on either 3 or 4 but using a wheel and pedals.

I've not tried the Bentley. Started with the Lambo but was struggling a lot. Tried one or two others then switched to the Lexus which I find a lot easier to drive and I'm quicker in it. Recently started using the aggressive setup preset too which seems good.

If you can get a wheel I'm sure it will dramatically change your experience!

My SA is 48 at the moment so that could be a factor I guess. Not sure on the TR question. My TR is fairly low still as there are a few tracks I've not really driven at all

I spent most of one day in single player mode doing all the tracks to get used to them. I think you need 4 perfect laps to get all 3 stars for a track. Which then puts your TR up

There's normally a couple a week that RD do for competizione. They platform on simracing.gp which opens up other racing communities that host on there too.

I'll probably hook up racing with them again while the time zones are aligned and they're running 60 and not the 90. It's worth subbing, i think it was something around a tenner for the year.

There's no barrier to entry, but fair warning they run on a decent pace.

By the time I got my premium through and invite accepted etc I was a bit late to join, but joined in for next week's race and nurburgring on Saturday night also.

I use the xbox controller as well It's taking a while but I'm getting there. Noticed if you pull the trigger just a quarter or half at times it helps a lot. Also played about with the dead zones in settings and it Improved my driving straight away.
I'm driving the ferrari gt3 evo 2020 and have been since the DLC came out before that it was the lambo.

EDIT :Ignore, im being a plum

Hopefully it'll be a good turn out, ive only done normal lobbies so hopefully it'll be good.
Joined a normal lobby this morning got nurburgring down to a 2.04 qualified 4th the got rammed from behind off the track at the first corner of the race and ended up in last so that was me exiting the race.

Signed up for the race tonight. Hopefully a few more join up, looking a little sparse compared to days of old.

Decided on the Audi, wasn't brave enough to skip around in the 720.
