Assetto Corsa EVO jan 2025

Can't even drive as the game has reversed my throttle, brake and paddle shifters and there is no option in the game to calibrate them. Control scheme is straight out of ACC which has it's pluses an minuses such as trying to assign a button to something only to release you haven't got that control input selected. I was trying to drive the Porsche Cup car. From what I saw in the pit lane nothing special looks wise, using my PSVR2. Knew I shouldn't have wasted my time :p May try again at the weekend.

Just invert the y axis. It's in the same controller settings page

Select the mapping you want to invert and go to the properties tab on the right.

It didn't quite unlock when it said it would, so I went to bed. Waking up this morning to what sounds like a joke even for early access, I think I'll give it a miss. Content missing because of an online servers bug is enough to turn me off completely.

Edit: Glad to see people fuming on Reddit about it too. I didn't realise they were going the live service route.
All hype dissipated.

I am getting good performance and so i should with a 4090 lol but i feel like the sense of speed is not brilliant at the moment, hopefully it will improve down the line.

well apparently VR is broken, someone bought it and refunded it within 10 mins, awful apparently
My 4090 was stuck between 95 and 99%...in the garage. Lol. I didn't bother checking framerimes because driving on track is not a good experience at all.

I get that it's "early release", but they have been bragging about VR and the performance is terrible.

It’s a good showcase of the new engine, physics improvements and dynamic road and weather but that’s about it.

It’s not a game at the moment, like previous Kunos early access. It’s bare bones, the AI is hopeless and it’s only really worth it if you’re happy just lapping by yourself, testing the physics etc

The base is there for a great sim in the future

Can't understand why people are refunding already when the game is early access and will have it's issues at launch, we are just early testers so what do they expect, once they fix the server issue are they going to buy it again

Give it a few months not a few hours god.
I could forgive the lack of content if they didn't lie about the VR capability

Just bought this, not as bad as I expected, runs ok with 1 car anyway, it just doesn’t seem to be bringing anything new to the table.
Seems a very odd choice of direction.
I don’t think I’ll refund it, but it isn’t adding anything so far.

Actually, I may get a refund, it seems a pointless game.

Always online just kills my excitement for this game. I'm kinda hesitating about making a rule for myself to never ever buy "always online" games, just like I never buy caged hens' eggs. Would mean refunding AC evo of course. Ethics...:D
How do you play multiplayer races then if you are not happy to be (always) online?

The same as mulitplayer in AC1 ;) Why the need for always online for Driving Academy, Special Events, 14/20 cars that we currently have?
I would hate with a capital H for AC1 to have followed the fate of Ubisoft's The Crew https://www.gamesindustry.biz/ubisoft-faces-lawsuit-for-allegedly-misleading-players-by-shutting-down-the-crew#:~:text=Ubisoft announced its decision to,"recently" purchased the title.
Same with Evo...
Yes so you play AC1 when you are technically online ;)

Evo is meant to go on the same route as GT7 where lots of the modes are dynamically added/loaded in via the internet

Special events i can see that being accessed online only esepcially if it is a daily event.

Anyways i hope they add LFM style online MP system inside the game itself. LMU did it and it is very good

It makes it much easier for Kunos to update content because it doesn't have to be done via Steam. If they're gonna add special events etc. regularly, it makes a lot of sense.

And the game is not really an always online game. Because you can still play the game in offline mode

Seems to me they released this too early for a bit of a cash grab. It's not so much 'early access' as it is 'alpha test' given there's not really a whole lot to do. The open world roaming will bring my interest back, I'm sure.

Not really blaming the devs, that just seems to be the way things work these days.

Yes !
Le Mans Ultimate has taken a year to develop the game, into something which has depth and something to aim & play for, and it's still in 'early development' now.

The journey of a game development is part of the fun. You discover new things and get to watch Youtubers talk about the updates every 3-4 months :p

Two important differences. 1) Even multiplayer in AC1 does not depend on Kunos's masterserver. 2) Single player and all content - Career, missions, cars, tracks - is offline. Taken together, there is no way AC1 can expire like The Crew. Unlike AC Evo.

What's hard about uploading updates to Steam? They've launched a miniupdate yesterday. Kunos/you can update at any time, there is the workshop option too.

The offline part is a stump. By Kunos's initial design, offline we had access to only 6/20 current cars. No access to driving academy of special events.
