** ASUS DO IT AGAIN: IPS, 144Hz & FREESYNC!!! Asus MG279Q thread **

Got mg MG279Q today, no dead pixels or noticeable back light bleed and looks stunning. Haven't tested in any games as got no GPU at the moment, waiting for new AMD cards to be released. Big upgrade from BenQ XL2410T.

Awesome! Mind taking some pics of it at some point? Potato quality is better than nothing :)

Still not worth the effort until these issues are ironed out though, it is also quite difficult to get a courier that covers insurance on monitors.
That's a very good point. I'm considering taking the risk of ordering one of these but none of the couriers I normally use will insure a £500 monitor. Anyone know one that will and not ask stupid money for doing so?

I got one too, panel quality is within acceptable range, seems to compare well to the best monitor I have, viewing angles are good, only thing I notice is there is no noticable matte coating on the screen, it reflects quite well

The way the software profiles work is kind of odd though, some features like brightness and saturation dont work in some profiles e.g. SRGB and if you try to use the low blue light filter it changes the profile to 'racing'. I was able to calibrate the colours fairly well using the 'scenery' mode although the reds still look overly pure and there is a slight lack of deep yellow strength but I think that might be side effect of LED backlights. Have not tried the 60hz + features yet as I am temporarily stuck on a GTX 470.

Aw man I want this monitor.

But why does purchasing a £500 monitor has to feel like walking into a casino and hope for the best? In this modern age and time this is ridiculous!!!!

Curtains drawn, light off, door shut 100% brightness.
My iPhone is making everything seem pretty bright lol, low light performance is about too good lol.

Backlight bleed slightly noticeable when looking at black screen in the dark at bottom right if you are trying to find it but other than that pretty good, I'm using with 28% brightness normally as suggested by tftcentral. IPS glow is worse than backlight bleed when you sit very close to the screen on black backgrounds but isn't distracting, never had an IPS before so can't comment compared to other IPS panels.

Played some games on PS4 seeing as I'm rebuilding my PC at the moment. Trace free 80 has no reverse ghosting that I can see, panel is faster than my Benq xl2410T which is quite impressive considering its IPS, ghosting is very very minimal and input lag is not noticeable.
