Asus MW221U 22" Ghosting in games.

Ive just checked the serial No and it seems they have sent me a different monitor back (with the same problem)

This one is dated August 06. = BAD

Thanks for uploading that - it does show the ghosting very well.

Now everyone can see what it looks like. (really really bad !)

I bet it looks twice as bad to us as we have his ghosting and ours on top ! :p

LOL.

Here are some stills from the mpg. The lighthouse is moving from the left to the right. The frames are 0.08 seconds apart.

That 3rd shot is really bad

What i find weird is on the panel i sent back the ghosting was actually in front of the moving object unlike these shots, on my replacement its behind, just like these shots. So i guess they must have be able to adjust it to be no be in front or behind on the newer fab'ed panels.

So on one had your saying its all to do with the sensitivity of the user then you go on to say overdrive is known the leave trails ...

My first panel had the ghosting ahead of the moving object then the replacement has the the ghosing behind the moving object so it obviously cant be the user unless I had a new pair of eyes in between.

Unlike your 2407, this monitor is sold saying it is ghost free thats why we are dissapointed, we could have paid less for a model which didnt offer this but actually doesnt ghost :p

If it was possible to turn the overdrive off permanent i think i would live with it but having to keep turning it on then off is a pain.

I'm just a bit worried as it seems Shaye87 is the only one without the ghosting.

(Could it be his is stuck in NO OVERDRIVE mode!?!?)

Anyone else without the ghosting?

I think Shay is in the U.S , i wonder if it may be uk stock affected.

I emailed the ASUS RMA guy about our findings over the weekend - I've not had a response yet.

Are you going for another RMA Devious?

I emailed him too and have not recieved a response.

Im going to wait a little until I know for sure the later models are ok then im going to ask for a direct swap with one.

You say that like theres no ghosting with overdrive off, there is.. 2ms g2g is pretty fast for LCD but it still ghosts.. Some users notice it and some don't...

With overdrive off, input lag should be removed but ghosting remains.

You really need to see one of these to see how bad it it. I have a 25ms LCD at work and im sure it ghosts but i dont notice it. The ghosting on these with overdrive on is like 1/2 inch away from the object, i noticed it within 5 mins owning the monitor.
I cant believe Shay who says his doesn't ghost just isnt noticing it.

That basically means out of the close to 250pcs we have sold only 1% of customers have had issues.
Now considering our customer base is pretty switched on its clear to ourselves that clearly this panel is obviously a good one.

A few people in this thread thought they had a perfect monitor until they saw the avi i provided then they knew what to look for and said they had the ghosting. Also some monitors came with overdrive off = no problem.

Hashcaske was just helping us who have bad panels out by seeing if the newer batch were cured so we can get Asus to swap again.

I got a repsonse today from Asus, they asked me for my serial No then replied saying..

"As soon as we have this model in stock we will contact you to arrange the collection of the faulty unit"

BuzZz friends are the only ones we have heard of with dead/stuck pixels and there has been quite a few owners posting in this thread. Ive had two so far myself with no pixel problems so Im hoping seems pixel problems arn't that common.
