ASUS Rampage IV Black Edition: The Ultimate LGA2011 Motherboard

what 8pack is saying most of the ones you use are synthetic meaning they only show they can run stable what they are programmed to run where as REAL world testing shows that its stable for what you need it to do

Ok but sometimes real world testing fails. Make success in stability testing and real world testing is a success.

I agree that 12hrs of prime is not needed. I think maybe 1 hr of any stability testing software is enough as no game is going to put a full load on your cpu more than any stability testing software. Ive always done things this way and i always get positive results so ill stick to what works through tried and tested experience.:)

Aloha big man (8PACK) how goes the quest for even more world records :) any chance you could setup us guys waiting for the rampage black with some of your thought on what to tweak in this bios to get us descent OC'S on the 930k and 4820k pretty plz :)

Ineed they do not sell binned chips outwith the bundles, and what 8pack is saying most of the ones you use are synthetic meaning they only show they can run stable what they are programmed to run where as REAL world testing shows that its stable for what you need it to do
can someone post a link here regarding those binned cpu bundle deals.

I agree with your testing methodology, but 12h p95 is needed at least for my case. As I said earlier, the definition of stability is rather subjective and people use their PCs in different way(gaming, surfing the net). As long as one's PC is able to work properly during day-to-day uses, it's ok to conclude it's stable.

....and still we wait.

Presumably Overclockers is a pretty major account for Asus UK - surely someone can rattle some cages and at least get us a firm ETA on delivery ???

Well... There have been full "retail" samples gone out to overclockers such as 8pack and others around the globe now over 6 weeks ago so all of it is built. I honestly don't know what the hold up is. Very disappointing to be honest. Apologies for here at OcUK, any updates we are getting are being forward on to you guys, issue is at the moment we aren't getting very much in the way of actual updates :(

This is getting a bit silly with the lack of news. At this rate some of us will be cancelling our orders.

I though OcUK was a major customer and even had an ASUS rep so I'm beginning to wonder why this appears to be a state secret. Has anyone actually spoken to them or are we just waiting for updates and a delivery to turn up one day?

I think once the 2nd week of december comes people will start cancelling.
there was a guy on ebay who was willing to sell me one for £500 but i thought nar cba.
He had over 10 instock from the USA and was willing to send it as an item worth a value of £50.
There used to be an Asus rep on her by the name of =VK=, i dont know if he is still about.

Does anyone feel that we are being forgot about with this product you skim through other topics and OCER'S staff are on it like a shot ( oh this didn't work for me, I need help and so on and so on, Well get this fixed for you) weve already paid 400 pounds (even more if your like a few of us me included doing a new build) and in 12 pages weve had two OCER'S staff members

let's go for x79 dark. At least, you can feedback your problem to evga, and hopefully problem get solved in the bios release. I have to say I pretty like this kind of interaction between manufacturer and end user.

Well it is annoying that there appears to be a total lack of info - yet I am sure if someone could be bothered they could get a reply off Asus pretty quickly.

A guy on the ROG forum is suggesting it may be the New Year before Europe gets this board - how true that is - is anyones guess.

I am sure most of us realise things take time to get shipped from Asia but a solid ETA from OcUK is not too much to ask for surely, given that they have had our money for several months now?

I will ask ASUS myself tomorrow.

I can tell you guys I do have a retail board shipped from the UK not Taiwan to upgrade the Supernova 8Pack PC. So they must be very close to if not already entering the channel.
