ASUS Rampage IV Black Edition: The Ultimate LGA2011 Motherboard

Still no fixed date and if the QTY the guys at Asus are looking to allocate ie "share" this could be a right let down.

A company that has pushed this product for weeks and weeks beyond anyone else and we have to "share" fairly?

If that means the 50 or so we have sold dont get allocation and those who have sold 5 and get more than this then have "spare" then Ill not be happy.

Im going to apologise now just in case Asus do let everyone down as it seems to be the way it is potentially going.

If they dont support the customers that have waited and supported them then i suggest you opt for the EVGA Dark and post many images in this thread about it. Id also air your disappointment in Asus for this where ever you can as bad publicity for a brand although disheartening may be required here :(

Not quite understanding the beginning of your post.

Are you saying you have been told that they are sharing out the first allocation and therefore you will be short or are you just assuming that might happen because of the lack of info from Asus ?

Also can you confirm if you do get less than 50 - you have a system in place that will allocate in strict date order i.e. those that ordered first get priority ?

Edit: as suggested I have posted direct to Asus UK on their Facebook page - not holding my breath.......

i think this simply means there is no update from asus,.

Well thanks for your honesty anyway Andrew. I have no particular allegiance to ASUS - I just want the 'best' I could realistically afford. Although I can't find anyone selling waterblocks for it yet, the EVGA Dark looks better (imo), I'll be using a Essence STX soundcard anyway so the onboard sound doesn't matter, and I won't be overclocking to a record level - 4.2->4.4Ghz would be plenty for a long term reliable system for me.

But - when do you expect the EVGA Darks to be back in stock Andrew?

Im gonna sit tight and just wait alittle longer. Hopefully be here in first week of December.
Tbh i may end up going for the Dark as its worth it just for the support.
Asus support is probably the worst support out of any, if youve ever had to RMA anything then you will now what im talking about.

So Guys what are our real alternatives here im waiting but if you were forced to buy another one what would it be and why?

The EVGA dark because its the newest x79 board, has great customer support and RMA service. Its quite rare. A new bios came out today for it so there always improving the bios. A waterblock is in production,if that comes ill probably get one.

Even if the black comes out tomorrow Asus have terrible RMA support, ive experienced it.

Either the RIVE or the dark

I personally just like the way asus boards work, but i want a black one!!

I wouldnt bother with the r4e because its been out alongtime now and i think it looks very bland. I dont see the point in buying something so late into its life not as my "main" PC.

I see AM already posted what was discussed today. Europe have a low allocation and though we are getting more than the rest of the UK e-tailors we still have to share numbers. This initial allocation will be here in around 10 days.

Case King is the same I checked with them.

Do you know what the allocation is 8pack? as has been stated above OCER'S have about 50 pre orders and since you are all saying your not getting a lot what is "not a lot", also if you were in the same boat as us mere mortals and were told you couldn't have a RIVEBE what would you use?

The allocation is not finalized yet so it would be wrong for me to speculate. This effects me too as the Super Nova is due for a refresh with this board and 4 R290X and whilst I have boards I cant offer a system with no stock available.

I would go RIVE for sure. If you look on the bot all the best scores universally are with RIVE and RIVE BE. RIVE is still a monster board.
