Asus ROG PG32UCDM - 4k OLED 240hz

Got the AW3225QF last week £840, 24 x no interest.
Quite impressive, but don’t expect the 4080 to push anything near the max frame rate, unless sacrificing the visuals to a point which defeats the purpose of it for quality.
I was also looking at the Alienware one but some websites said it had no 3.5mm audio output.
And I thought this may cause hassle if i use other items with the monitor like my PS5 or Xbox

The Dell is a great deal and I almost went for that myself to be honest, the only thing putting me off and I'm sure it won't be a problem is that it has a fan for the cooling. I did like that it had the e/ARC HDMI port though.

DLSS Performance looks very decent on 4K.
After which the only games that are still not happy would be down to heavy ray tracing. RT is a visual I can sacrifice with clear conscience. Visual not worth the performance hit if there ever was one.

One the reasons I was going get the dell is because it was curved and am a little worried what it going be like using a flat screen again after using curved 34” & 35” UW’s everyday for 8 years

To be honest I'm not really sure 32" Screens benefit from having a curve? I had a Samsung 32" G7 which had a curve, but I don't remember it being more immersive for example, I also had a 38" Dell Alienware UW and that definitely benefitted from having the curve.

Doubt they'd go through that effort. Will probably see it with the next set of panels and post the release of the new GPUs.

Cool. Well, looks like I’m in for the PG27UCDM then.

Edit: I did have a search myself before asking, couldn’t see anything though.

I think with the introduction of the 5090, along with higher refresh rate panels (this year), will open up demand - even then, it's still relatively untested so you'll probably be paying a premium.

Are you guys using a DP cable or an HDMI cable to run this monitor from a PC ?
I am using the HDMI cable that comes with the monitor. I did originally use my exisiting HDMI cable but was experiencing some black screens when playing Warzone. I have switched to the supplied HDMI and that appears to have stopped happening.

LOL I also said sod it and ordered one of these Asus monitors this morning.:D

But it not expected to be delivered till next Saturday or Monday as am in the Channel Islands

It turned up a few days early :D:D:D

I’ve got the AW3225QF and have it connected to my PC with the supplied HDMI cable, no problems. I recently bought a Mac Mini and initially connected it to the second HDMI port on the monitor.

The only problem I had was at 3008x1692 resolution on the Mac Mini it didn’t like the 240 Hz setting had to run it at 120 Hz. Then I bought a USB-C to DisplayPort cable and now it runs at 240 Hz at 3008x1692.

HDMI 2.1 cable did run fine 240 Hz at 3840x2160 but everything looks to small at that setting. So for me DisplayPort was a bit better.

One thing that caught me out was with using the HDMI cable it seemed to disabled the 3.5mm audio output on my motherboard and i had to use the 3.5mm audio output on the monitor

Superb, looking forward to hearing what you think!

Think it going to take me a while to get used to this monitor loads of different settings

I been using some the tftcentral settings at the moment

Plus going back to a flat screen monitor it looks like the sides of the screen actually curves backwards and looks really weird and i keep wanting to pull the left hand side of the screen towards me :cry::cry:

It going take some time to get used to how small this 31.5 inch monitor looks after having a 35 inch UW
it almost 5 inches narrower

It looks tiny on my desk
