ASUS ROG Swift PG279Q 144hz 2560x1440 IPS G-Sync.

Adjust the exposure of your camera, either do it within the camera app or after with a photo editor, I imagine its looks closer to this edit of mine??

That's assuming that you aren't using a stupidly high brightness :p Either way, even that edit of mine is bad and I wouldn't put up with it.

Phone cameras always make it look worse than what it really is...

It definitely looks worse on camera but IRL it isn't that bad honestly. Also the brightness is 100% on monitor

100%?! Not a wonder  :p

The recommended brightness is about 26%, you really shouldn't need to go above 50% at max unless you have a ton of light in your room.

Well my third replacement monitor arrived today (first was from another company and two from OCUK). Another dead/stuck pixel or dust. The 1st one I had a piece of dust, the second one had a piece of dust and a dead pixel, and now this one has just a dead/stuck pixel
I haven't even got past the part where I decide If there is any backlight bleed or glow, it's been a case of turn it on, see dead pixel, back into the box.

I'm pretty sure It's dead anyway but it looks a bit smaller than the one on the last monitor I had, it might be stuck or dust.

Would add a photo but don't know how to on this forum

You dont seem to be having much luck with that monitor. I would ask them to test the next one before they send it out to save their and your time.

Here is mine, received it this morning. What do you think? I cant says it bothers me that much since I dont play many dark games. I will note however my camera seems to exergate the issue - the first photo was taken with my ipad air2, and the second my old samsung s2

That is absolutely terrible. What's more terrible is they are charging £800 for this ***** and they cannot focus on getting quality uniform in the factory. Any company who lets stuff like this out of their factory doors should be ashamed of themselves. They do not deserve customers as far as I am concerned.

I agree its not good at all, It's a shame these monitors cant be checked properly before they are sent out, but I understand that is un-realistic.

I actually sent Asus a complaint email yesterday, but I very much doubt they will respond!

Given the reported quality control issues, even IF I received an acceptable example of any of the recent ASUS/Acer models, I would have absolutely no confidence it wouldn't develop a fault or self destruct within a short time given other people's experiences.

Vote with your wallet and stop buying them?

I must say that is another conern with these "hi-tech" monitors. Many seem to go wrong sooner or later down the line, then one is stuck in a cycle of RMA'ing back to the manufacturer. Also if you dont keep your old monitor you are really stuffed, because to be left without a monitor is a nightmare especially when you work from home as I do.

To be fair I've got a decent PG278Q sat on my desk that's been going strong for over a year touch wood. At the time there were many issues with these at launch and seeing all this a year later on a new model it seems ASUS have made no effort to improve on the mistakes made the first time round. It's such a shame there is no other alternative as when these work as intended they are truly wonderful.

I'd be inclined to give the Dell a try if I ran into any problems with this one.

^^ Mine ran flawlessly for almost exactly a year (shipping date/time is almost exactly the same to the minute to when it went wrong a year on) then it started doing the same as loads of people reported with text going all fuzzy, 144Hz mode resulting in flicker, etc. (Doubly annoyed as I got a pretty good panel with 0 dead pixels, great uniformity, minimal to no backlight bleed, none of the extreme gamma shift/darkening that some got, etc. and in the meantime I'm having to use my old XL2420T for gaming which I really don't like).

Asus RMA so far has been a shambles and still waiting 3 weeks on for any movement so at this point I'd strongly advise against them.

Agreed, it is a shame, I love the build quality on these Swifts and if If they improve I will surley try again :)

I was looking at the Asus PA328Q this morning, id LOVE to purchse that as Im such a ProArt fan but there is no way in hell I could power that thing in games.

I was looking for a Gsync 144mhz monitor and maybe IPS , i have the philips 40in 4k screen but its not really made for games , single player games it was fine but online you can tell i there was input lag . and driving games would sometimes not all the time shift and blur .

now im going to be keeping 4k screen as its awesome for other stuff and the odd game that does not need 2x 980ti sc to power it .

so seen this but £750 for a monitor that i may have problems with ..with me if it has a dead pixel it would go back everytime at this price . Im in the middle of building my super watercooled overclocked rig and so why not treat myself to a gaming screen just for gaming ..as the gsync will only be used for games .my xbox one and PS4 will also be plugged into the Philips and not the gsync. and i do not like TN !! would love the 165hz overclock on this baby ..but how many have been sent back so far . its a worry that there is dirt in the screen , i mean it must take a right sadist to get up in the morning building these for peanuts , then on way to work at 4am in the morning filling his pockets of dirt just to annoy us who can afford to buy these monitors , it makes me really wonder . joking aside these monitors should be supreme condition . but we still buy them as the consumer ..its never going to get boycotted EVER !! cus there are people like me and you who just want that tech . and i still want one . but how many faulty monitors are you allowed to send back until overclockers say enough is enough here is your money back . as there is no way im buying it elsewhere considering overclockers has the best warranty on these

i would also like to know if its possible to have DSR (3840x2160) on and then still have gsync and 144hz mode ? would be great and would pull the trigger if so .

and i wont be buying yet it will be after xmas as want to see these problems vanish .

OK, have had the monitor for 2 days now. Still not sure, agree with some of the comments so far regarding a slight yellow cast to the screen but I think that could be dialed out. More to follow but one thing, is it me or am I aiming better in BF4 since I got it?

The monitor was measured at 6200k white point on TFT central, it should be 6500k, that's probably why there is a yellow tint, just reduce the red and green channels a bit.

Hi everyone,

This is so frustrating, I got my monitor 2 days ago and from what I can see it has 0 dead pixels and no dust.

The one thing that is doing my head in is the yellow colour change towards the top of the screen (in particular the Left hand side) It doesn't photograph well but if you display a white web page you can see the colour change.

Is this something that I can return it for? Tbh I think if I was to return it I'd just get a refund as from what folk are saying there are so many problems with this panel that it may not be worth the hunt for perfection.

I've noticed, after taking pictures of it that there is a bit of backlight bleed up there but the whole top of the monitor seems slightly dimmer than the bottom.

My Eizo foris fs2333 is absolutely consistent colour-wise across the panel and I can't believe that on one that costs this much that it isn't perfect too.

Hi Darthy,

Your one looks just like mine, except your top right corner looks look like my lower right corner, which is pretty awful. Im sending mind back, I wouldnt want to encourage you one way or the other, but if sending it back is something you want to do, the law fully entitles you under DSR to return opened items within seven days from what ive read online ;)

I can well belive your Eizo has a great panel. Ironically my older, cheaper Asus ProArt IPS monitor has a stunning panel (LG) with deep inky black's and overall great uniformity. I really want myself a nice PG279Q so I hope some better samples come into cirulation soon!
