- OcUK Exclusive Service: Warranty regarding dead pixels falls under ISO rules and as such dead pixels if very few are not an actual fault. But at OcUK we value our customers especially when spending such a large amount of money on what is a flagship gaming monitor. As such even if you only have 1 dead/stuck pixel and it has not gone after 3 days, we will class the monitor as faulty and exchange it for you at no cost to you. This service is exclusive at OcUK for Asus ROG Swift ONLY or other qualifying monitors! (Valid for 28 days from purchase)!

Got mine today but it shows as "display port no signal". So much for testing the backlight bleed and ips glow then

Edit: So after spending hours trying to fix the issue myself, it only worked with the HDMI port. No dead pixels and no bleed was found. The screen that I received was perfect. Sadly its going to be returned because I cant use the high refresh rates. I was hoping a few screen issues would be found, then I would be far less gutted to send this one back :(

GOt mine, coming from a 30" hazro IPS and sitting next to two glass fronted 27" hazro IPS.

No physical problems such as pixels/dust.
Set up according to TFT Central.

Minor backlight bleed on the upper mid right side - acceptable amount and not really noticeable.

IPS glow seems normal.

Bottom right corner appears to have a minor level of backlight bleed, but it spreads a lot further out that the little bit on the side. Combine it with the fact it is in prime IPS glow territory and it makes it noticeable on dark scenes. It does seem to be settling a little though, so I will give it a few days. Applying pressure to the bezel 3-4 inches from the corner on the bottom appears to make this subside largely as well.

The most annoying issue is definitely the difference in white tone in the top 1/3rd of the screen though. Nice clean bright whites become a slightly off white. Pretty hard to notice unless on a lot of white surface are though. Its a similar experience to putting a phone into "reading mode" but a bit less pronounced on my screen.

Has anybody received a monitor that doesn't have the brightness/white tone issues on the top 3rd of the screen?

I'm trying to work out whether to get a refund or a replacement, but there's no point in getting a replacement if it's impossible to get one that doesn't have this issue!

P.S. Mine is an October 2015 panel fyi

thanks!

Mine is uniform white. Except on the (if dividing monitor in 6 equal sized slices vertically) right where its slightly colder.

I have the darker whites issue near the top too... seems almost everyone does.

It is not a huge issue but if I could get a panel without it, I'd return. Unfortunately the chances seem almost nonexistent right now based on how many have it.

i had one of these preordered for a decent price and its been delivered im at work right now so cant test it out but reading this thread makes me worried

i dont think ive come accross a single post of someone actually happy with this monitor
same for OCN

it will be replacing the PG278Q

Im unsure whether to keep it or not. I like the monitor overall, im just not sure if I like it £750s worth of like, with the issues.

The white issue I can live with, I don't notice it anymore unless I actually look for it, it probably "helps" that my monitors are different anyway, so without proper calibration they all look slightly different as it is. BLB however is annoying, and shouldn't be on a panel of this price - especially considering my Hazros don't have problems and they are a cheap brand.

If I keep it, I do need to get two more display port monitors though, for triple screen. So I am considering the freesync version for the two side monitors as its so much cheaper and I don't need gsync on the side screens nearly as much.

I think my real choice is whether to support shoddy QA by keeping the monitor, or sending it back as unacceptable in the hope that Manufacturers decide to aim for better quality products at this price point.

I've decided to go for a replacement, wish me luck :S

With the brightness issues and yellowing I have at the top of the screen, I was almost wondering if they only had LEDs at the bottom of the panel and not the top. I've no idea how these panels are usually lit but it honestly feels like they just shoved them at the bottom.

Hey,

I'm just RMA'ing it for a replacement but will only get one when they come back into stock.

Btw, does you monitor display whites differently across the monitor? i.e. more yellow at the top?

Well, I may be criticizing it, but overall I'm happy with the monitor. I think I will be keeping it.

The issue with the whites... I haven't notice it at all during gaming, which is the primary reason I bought this monitor. I'm keeping my LG UM95 for Photoshop work. I have very minor BLB thankfully.
