ASUS ROG Swift PG279Q 144hz 2560x1440 IPS G-Sync.

Here is mine after I managed to get the display port working. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jhcJyXfybdA

When zoomed out its very close to how its seen with the naked eye. The glow when angling the camera is exaggerated but there is still slight orangy-silver glow.
Still 50/50 between keeping it and sending it back. Thoughts?

Glow that changes depending upon the angle is normal for IPS. Looks about the same as mine, except I have some BLB at the top left instead of bottom left.

Looks like a pretty good unit to me personally.

Now thats a keeper IMHO, I would have kept that one :)

Mine has settled quite a bit, at least in the bottom right.

This is it now, I can't get it quite the same as what I can see. I basically can't see it in the bottom right, or on the left. The middle right doesn't spread to the top either. With my very limited editing skills though, if I made it dark enough so it didn't spread too far, then the blb didn't show up much at all :/

Think I am going to keep it, haven't been able to spot it at all while playing fallout 4, or watching anything. I only notice it when its on a completely black loading screen etc

Looks like you've taken a picture of a blackboard. :D

Fair play, it looks like you've got a really good panel.

Not happy,

Just got an email from overclockers saying that they couldn't find fault with my monitor. It's bloody darker and yellow at the top.

Wish I'd never bought this now. I calibrated it with a spyder4elite and it showed a 20% difference in luminance between the middle of the panel and the top.

Absolutely ridiculous.

^^

If you are still within 14 days of purchase then just say you want a refund under the CCR law/act.

You will have to cover shipping fees though.

Thanks @Nexus18

I just called up the RMA department who still have the monitor beside them and asked for a refund under CCR.

They said that they have processed the refund but I don't have any emails yet to say that it's the case.

Should I be expecting an email do you know?

Yeah you should get an email, can't remember how long it takes them to send it out though, if you don't receive anything by lunch time tomorrow then contact them again.

Lol, its worse than my other monitors for BLB, and I took the photo with manual settings so it looks closer to what I see, as opposed to other peoples way over exposed photos.

The variance in luminosity is something that shouldn't be occurring either, but since I don't notice it really now, I will accept it. If I was using it for professional graphics work beyond AutoCAD, I would not accept it.

It was MUCH worse when I first got it and turned it on though. Was a lot brighter/more intense. Assuming it settles a bit more as time goes on/I stroke it while lovingly whispering to it to dim the lights, it should end up being nice.

Not that there should be any of this on modern premium panels, they are meant to get better not worse.

It's not the panels though, its the way they are put together. Previously in this thread of you squeeze the corners the bleed goes away, so its QC thats the issue ?

Is this much bleed worth taking it back for?

If you are happy with the monitor, that is all that matters. However I would not keep that, mine was similair and I sent it back.

Just as an example here is a good one, although ive only seen one or two like this, most are like yours:-

A good IPS type panel should have a little "silvery" glow at most, or at least all the ones ive ever ownd have :)

Hi guys,

So this is a very odd issue. i'm on my 3rd replacement. All was good apart from some really bad bleed which I seem to have fixed however there is one jarring issue.

The left side of the monitor seems to pulsate. What I mean by this is they go cold (look white), obviously its still displaying whatever color it is supposed to be but the pixels go cold, akin to how backlight bleed would make it look. The weird thing is this comes and goes (pulsates) every couple of seconds. It about 4-5 pixels wide at its worse and it is becoming very distracting. The monitor is good in every other way.

Just wondered if this is a faulty DP cable or something? Anyone had this before? I tried all frequencies down to 60hz and disabled g sync etc. I still have the pulsation. Never ever seen this before and I am really confused about it. Just wondered if anyone has ever seen this in the past?
