So far I can ascertain all they are doing is checking that the serial number of the returned board is correct, and that there is actually something in the box. I reckon that they will just replace yours in the usual way... let's hope so anyway!

Hope so, trying to clear my credit card not rack another £200 onto it. I've read that they can charge you for the replacement of the socket, £20 or so. Then again if these boards are likely to be scrapped hopefully they ignore the socket.
