It seems the HD7870 when highly overclocked can trade blows with an HD7970 running at stock speeds at 1920X1080 while consuming less power too:

Hopefully,when the GTX670 and GTX670TI are released,AMD will release an HD7890 model with higher stock clockspeeds.

Card in, and it's utterly silent
I was a bit scared at first, put it in and one of the fans was clicking , after a quick look it turned out that the fan power cable was slightly raised and was just catching the fan, pushed it down with my thumb and now it's perfect. *phew!*

Let us know how it goes and benchmarks if you can....I'm torn between this and the 7870....
Is that definitely with 4x AA?
