Audi owners in here!

I think Hereford quoted just over an hours labour.

Seems excessive for a sat nav update. :(

May just do without and use my phone for anything the car doesn't pick up.

I think I may be able to get it done under warranty. It seems there is a common issue where the audio tells you to come off at the first exit of a roundabout yet the one you need to take (and shows visually) is the third exit for example. Seems a few people have had luck with this on the A5OC and other Audi forums, so I may look into that. The fix is to update it. :)

Ive got a dilemma guys, now ive got a sprint blue 59 reg audi s3 3 door and would much rather have a 4 door now due to the little ones.

What should i do ? get another s3 or save a little bit and get the rs3 ?

if your gonna stretch to the rs3 why not get the new s3 they should be dropping in price soon.

Ignore me just looked at the prices and the cheapest 2nd hand one is 29k which is crazy when they are 30k new!!!

So Audi in Cheltenham said it'd be £160 to update my MMI and Sat Nav, Audi in Hereford want £300.

Bit steep? Anyone had theirs done, if so what did you pay?

Also managed 40.3 mpg on the way home, went a different (and longer way) which involves more motorway. Happier with that. :)

I had quotes of between £260 and £330 for mine (HDD based).

Seemed all the more painful to pay for when I had just bought a top of the range TomTom with life time maps and trraffic for my other half for the same cost

For fuel consumption, my A6 3.0 TDI does an actual MPG of between 32 and 38 depending on the mix of round town an motorway (AC on auto). The OBC reports quite a bit higher though.

As much as I love the RS3 for it's engine it doesn't make sense to spend so much extra just for it for me. I'd personally if it needs to be an S3 get a newer model.

You may be able to do a swap with yours though as prices shouldn't be much different between three and five door.

Just placed my order for an A3 Saloon S-Line - 2.0 TDI 184 (15th December though...)

Actually scored a total fluke deal due to dealer error! Got just under 15% discount by accident. lol.

5 different garages said they would not budge on the price and that they were given no discounts on this model currently.
Then I sent my last e-mail to York Audi - within 5 minutes the business development manager responded with a full quote. (£4000 discount) I then received a phone call 15 minutes later from a sales guy in retail saying they could NOT lower the price.

When I questioned it, there had been confusion and my e-mail went to both the retail and the business sales. Business responded first thinking I was placing a fleet order (got excited seeing company e-mail address and quoted me without looking thinking it was a big order).

Luckily for me they honoured it so I got the order through ASAP before they changed their minds.

Had a good drive of it and it's a lovely car. I part-ex'd my A4 for an A1 Black Edition in September which I really like - but we need 2 cars now so figured it'd be nice to have another Saloon and keep the A1 for smaller, more local journeys.

I actually ended up preferring the A3 Saloon to the A4 - the A4 is getting a facelift in 2015 so the A3 currently has more spec for the price at the minute and feels just as good to drive and looks pretty much identical. Can't wait to get it. 4 months is a long time though

York isn't exactly that far either so pretty nice saving for the sake of a £10 train journey when I have to collect.

Never heard of drive the deal.

I have read though that 10-15% is what you should aim to get each time.
I just found it odd that 5-6 different garages all told me that there were no discounts at all on this particular spec model I wanted.

Whether I could have got it or not I don't mind - I did get it without any haggling by complete luck so I'll take that.
I did offer loads of other dealers beat it by even just £100 but all said they couldn't even get close.

I'll remember that site for future though when I'm next looking.

brother is after a new A4 Black Edition but he should be looking for a good discount if the new facelift is coming in 2015. It means his could depreciate more I suspect?

In short yes, drivethedeal.co.uk is showing a 20% discount. This is only a starting point the supplying dealer need to pay drive the deal so I would be trying to get a little bit more off !

You did do well getting the discount on your A3 so easily a dealer wouldn't normally offer the deal straight away as 75% of customers probably don't ask for a discount in the first place.

Welcome to the exclusive A3 saloon club, that's very good discount from a dealership. The A4 is actually going to be replaced with a new version as it has already had at least one facelift, and possibly more. May I suggest you join this forum http://www.audi-sport.net/vb/244-new-a3-s3-8v-chassis/ and put your new car into the A3 Saloon register, mine is the very first post.

I see, dealer just used the word facelift so I wasn't sure if it was a new model or not - I thought it would be by now as it's 6-7 years old the current one.

Still nice cars mind but I'll warn him to make sure he gets a really good discount if he still wants to go ahead with it. Or, just keep saving and run his car for another 12 months and buy the new one.

Or look at an A3 Saloon, or another brand.

@Chriscatt - cheers I'll check that out. Away out now for squash coaching then popping to the cinema after so i'll give it a look tomorrow.

Wouldn't have minded the S3 like - but just wasn't worth the extra money for what we use the car(s) for. 184 model is still quick when you need it, but is economical and has good emissions - seemed like a good balance.

I know that Audi are having delays in supplying A3 Saloon, hence the long wait, this is due to demand outstripping supply and that Audi refuse to up the production to keep the quality control and residual values high, at least that is what they say. FYI saloons are built at the Győr factory in Hungary alongside the new TT model. Here http://www.audi-me.com/me/brand/en/company/production_plants/gyoer/virtual_factory_tour.html is a virtual tour of the factory...
