Audi owners in here!

Anyone coming to the RR meet have working VCDS?

I have a KKL cable and latest VCDS and it will talk to the lead but not the car.

I need to unlock the satnav DVD.

Love the Electronic Auto Brake in my R, just set on Auto and done, No more having to worry about roll back on hill or handbrake on stopping. Electronic Auto Brake is fantastic. Won't look back now :)

Are there any connections in the glove box? Probably unlikely though for that age car.

Don't know much about the mk1, sorry. Check out the mk1 section over on the TT forum, a lot of useful information there.

Not that I'm aware of, will check out the TT forum, thanks :)

My brother has a mk1 TT
This is what he uses :p

I have suggested that and she doesn't mind that idea, but don't think she quite understands just how terrible the sound will be :p

I got a cheap (£6) AMI to USB cable off the big river - picks up USB drives fine but not iPhones plugged in - no biggie

Also after a week of driving and first decent run over the weekend I'm so impressed with the new motor - after virtually to the week two years of driving the 2.0 TFSI I avergaed 32MPG - after 350 miles of driving over the last few days it's just shy of 49 MPG - I know it's not directly comparable but very impressed so far

Another decent run out tomorrow Cheshire - Cramlington - Cheshire round trip - can't wait :D

Surely you can't as the system will refuse to engage if the vehicle is in motion?

It engages all 4 brakes as far as I can tell. It's like doing an emergency stop.

It doesn't stay on either, just for as long as you are pulling on the switch.

Usually yes, however the system has an emergency override, you hold the button down for 3 seconds and the brake motors actuate.

I got a 2013 a3 1.6d (28k miles) in the end (just to annoy everyone on ocuk who advised against it :D) but it was a good price

its just such a nice car (compared with the 2005 focus I had)

love the sat nav and dab radio, feels nice to drive too

getting around 55mpg in the commute and got 62 on a 200 mile trip yesterday
doesnt feel as slow as I worried about either

ordered a cheapy phone AMI cable - anyone tried these with a nexus 5?

Just use bluetooth? (assuming it comes with it)

I have the 1.6TDI and as I said a few times, it's in no way a terrible engine.

Assuming new shape A3, then I like them. Whack up a pic or two :)

Sounds like it's old shape if everyone on OcUK advised against it - the new A3 is a decent car, the old A3 was well past it's sell by date :p

Buying a 2013 old shape would have been like sitting in a car from 2003 :p

Quite, hence the hopeful assumption.

Might as well have bought a 2005-onwards A3 for a fair chunk less money, as it would be largely identical bar DRLs.

Buying an A1 is the same, the interior is basically 10 years old Audi, even though the car isn't that old, the style is.

Sitting in the new A3 and TT, it's absolutely lovely.

Not really. It's not the most plush of interiors, but it's (or was at release) current gen infotainment and systems. The design is rather Marmite (I quite like the better spec'd versions), but to say it's 10 years old is just wrong.

The previous generation A3 on the other hand, that was STILL available to order NEW in 2013, was identical in design, spec and tech to the same car with a different grille and lights that was available to order in 2003.
