Audi owners in here!

Warranty doesn't cover filling it with oil. :p

I'll keep an eye on it (on her behalf :p)

Goodo, hopefully you won't need it :)

No, but if it seems thirsty on the oil start to record dates, mileage and how much you're topping up each time ;)

Shall do, cheers for the heads up on this engine. But in fairness might be her first turbo car but not mine, so I plan to check things from time to time and have it given checkups from my mechanic periodically.

So far though, she's very happy. Back seats are fine for her taking her neice and nephew out which is all she used the back seats in her last car for anyway.

No probs - it's a known issue with all VAG 2.0 TFSI - I've been through an engine rebuild and three blown injectors because of it :(

Guy at works Mrs is just embarking on a similar magical journey - mine only had 30 odd thousand on the clock :(

Been driving around in this for a week now while my A8 is in the dealership.

Rubbish photos as I just don't particularly care for it, it's the A6 2.0 TDI S/Line Ultra 190ps, it's pretty much base spec and I guess does it's job of getting me, the missus, two kids and all their stuff that comes along with them around.

what car do you have?
my old B5 tdi quattro is 400 odd miles shy off 200k miles.
still pulls strong and runs sweet. timing belt is getting done this week with a complete service..

I wonder if the wife's 15 plate seat Leon will still be going as strong at 200k

After only 2 weeks the A4 is going back for work, water pump is leaking G12 all over the back of the engine bay. :(

Beginning to wonder why I choose Audi as a brand to stick with :p

Is there a way to find what oil i need? Light came on last night. Any real benefit to using the super expensive "Audi recommends" oil over anything else?

For the majority of recent Audis it should be
Castrol EDGE Professional LongLife III 5W-30

~ £18.50 for a 1litre top up from Audi Dealer, although I tend to buy mine from Ebay, there is normally an audi dealer selling direct on there - last time I bought 2x1Litres from Wolverhampton Audi for £25.90 inc Postage.

Sometimes it can actually improve the ride and handling  but the vast majority are just too stiff for UK road use.

My Bilsteins were much better than the DRC that was on before but the H&R kit would have been worse as it's way too stiff.

Why is everyone so obsessed with taking once good cars and sticking them on coilovers?

I can understand where you're coming from, the handling is completely fine and doesn't need to be messed with. I want the car to sit a bit lower by about 20mm for purely aesthetic reasons, considered lowering springs but I don't think this would be good combination with the current suspension setup. Its on stock suspension at the moment but I think it's nackered...a bit worried lowering springs are going to make the ride very very harsh (its already pretty crashy)...

Some coilovers, as said earlier, do actually improve the ride. One of my friends swears by the KW V3's he put on his 330d M-Sport. That and ditching the RFT's transformed the car (it was a pre-LCE e90).

I personally can't bring myself to spend near £1k on coilover for a car, and cheaper ones simply aren't worth it. That being said, I do much prefer the aesthetics on a nicely dropped motor. Reducing the arch gap can be one of the best modifications possible on a car.

That S3 would look MUCH better with a bit of a drop. But I would just put on some quality (KW or Eibach or similar) lowering springs personally. And possibly some Bilstein shocks.

And yes, a remap would be the best bang per buck mod possible.

A good setup is nearly double that (like my B16 PSS9's) and a great setup is triple (ohlins etc) but it's getting very silly for a "road only" car :D

The electronically adjustable Ohlins set would be amazing, I think the R35 kit was about 4k and that plugged into the existing electronics system so stand alone must be expensive!

Loving the magride on the R8 though, would only change it if the shocks leaked out of warranty and needed replacing.
