Audi owners in here!

Picking up an 2011 A3 TDI black edition on Friday, looking online at information this version only come in start stop according to parkers, When test driving I couldn't see that it is, is there any quick way to check?

Not that it changes anything for me if it has it or not, just be nice to know if all of a sudden the engine just cuts at a sop.

There will be a button on the dash to enable/disable the function. So that's kind of a giveaway if the car has it or not.

It also only functions if certain criteria are met (such as outside temperature, cabin temperature relative to configured climate control temperature, electronic system load, etc). So don't expect it to stop necessarily every time you come to a halt.

Where is the button usually? Is it usually just below the stereo?

I didn't notice anything and didn't think it did have it.

EDIT:
This is the interior: http://images.clickedit.co.uk/5855/57916304.jpg

Is it the one on the far left from the hazard warnings?

Yea looks like it might be, I'll just to wait and see when I pick it up and see if the button matches. Its only a bonus on what is a awesome car in my eyes.

Cheers guys,

Also Cam belt pulleys and water pump are to be done 60k/5 years right?

Is there any options on the A5 which dictates a price similar to an A4 of which is the saloon version however 2 years newer?

Being the "black" edition is essentially the S-Line spec with blacked out windows, "square" steering wheel, Black edition alloys, black headline in the cab etc

£20k seems a lot of money to spend on models which are now at 6 years old..

Have you considered a BMW 3 Series?

At least with a 2014 you are getting the fact it's only a year old but it presumably has the same interior as the one photographed a few posts up which would be fairly depressing for a 20 grand car.

For 20k I would look at the A3 Saloon or A6 instead.

Guys am i missing something with my stereo? I'm using a black cable for my iPod Touch (1st gen) and it works fine (no album art but meh) but i cant seem to find an option for shuffle all songs? I have to play an album at a time, and i hate that.

Is that the case or am i a maroon?

Also, it seems to order all the tracks alphabetically. Is that also normal or is it just screwed up Metadata?

Oil consumption issue

I have a 2010 A5 2.0 TFSI Black Edition, bought second-hand 2 years ago and it now has 51,000 on the clock.

For the past year, my oil consumption has gone through the roof taking a litre every 360-380 miles and you probably know Audi recommend Castrol 5w-30 which is on average £35 per 4 litres so it has been expensive.

I was surfing the web looking for issues relating to this and to my surprise it seems to be a 'known' problem although not formally recognised in Europe but a Class Action loss for Audi in the States.

I contacted Audi UK and they have been helpful in arranging for the Oil Consumption Test at my local Audi dealer. The car went in last Thursday for the phase 1 test, oil top-up and 600 mile road test they said it should take about a week.

I am concerned that I could be hit with engine rebuild costs as Audi UK don't seem to be consistent who they help or not.

Most if any Goodwill gesture from Audi UK, will come down to whether you have it serviced by them or not - from what I've experienced (listening to other people whilst in the dealership, and from people I know), they are normally fairly generous, as long as they have done the work on the car.

Then it looks I'm up **** creek, the first services were done by Audi and following service was completed from the dealership I bought the car from (not Audi) and the last service was done by Halfords.

......... goes off to check bank balance
