Audi owners in here!

I want to post exciting things about my 2.0 diesel A6 Avant but I have absolutely nothing to report :(

Best MPG I've got is 52 and average is just over 40. Should I be (un)impressed?

Yup, Audi make boring bland cars with shiny bits par excellence.

Isn't progress good? :p

Indeed :)

Sorry dude, I'd had a long, foodless day when I posted this... wasn't sure if you meant changing a plug at a time then driving the car or using the old pull the plugs out whilst the engine is running routine to check for a change in engine note.

Was going to check the state of the plugs/wiring this weekend but the weather is diabolical.

edit; Would I be right in thinking(taking an uneducated guess here) that there is no sensor beyond the coil? Meaning due to the lack of code, it's more likely to be plug related? The sensors go off for anything on this engine, I don't understand why a misfire isn't detected.

Can't stop watching videos of the new TT. Just think its stunning and definitely a 'next car' for me. It costs a little to much at the moment so going to have to hold off as can't really justify changing mine at the moment. (TTS is even more dear...)

Love the instrument cluster screen thing. Very nice. Is that on most new Audi's now or just the TT, high spec ones?

Only as an option, which given 90% of A4 will be zero option leased 2 litre diesels means it will be very rare.

If I buy an A4 it'll be on that one, lol. But id only be buying an S4, just wish they would hurry up about releasing it.

I think it's only an option on any Audi though. I was surprised to see a Q7 without it.

Getting some coding modifications done to my C6 A6 next week, along with some front suspension diagnostics on a rather annoying cabin vibration.

Anyway, what's worth coding into the 2010 A6? So far I've got:
  • Scandinavian running lights (rear LEDs)
  • oil temp/boost/lap timer
  • auto fold mirrors on lock
  • visual parking aid (if supported. probably not)
Passenger mirror dip is already active, what am I missing? Needle sweep is pointless, as are the myriad interior lighting options. Don't really feel like removing safety measures such as bongs and handbrake release safety guards.

Got an 55' A3, which I noticed had some rust on the offside wheel arch. Knowing of the 12 year warranty that Audi have, I contacted them at they took photos etc.

I've been told that the rust isn't covered in the 12 years (not sure why, it hasn't been damaged at all), but they will give me 70% off the cost of getting it fixed (sounds good to me).

They said the whole of the panel needs painting for it to be warranted by Audi (3 years), but the panel is pretty much the whole of the rear of the car and so would be a cost to me of £120 odd.

Is it normal for the whole panel to need to be painted?

Do any of you guys have experience with the 2007/2008 A5 3.0 v6 diesel?

Going to look at a couple tomorrow, would be good to know what to look for. I've checked the usual OC sites, etc... but always good to hear from others too.

Not normal on a 55 plate car, no. I had a 2006 A3 that got a fair amount of bashing through business use and the occasional off road 'expedition' up north. The paint work was flawless other than the few expected stone chips.

£120 isn't bad for the whole rear end of the car with a main dealer.

So the steering on my A3 has started "sticking" at high speeds on long drives. When trying to make slight adjustments (drift/wind) in direction it takes more force to get the wheel to turn and you end up over adjusting. I've had the car booked into the garage but wondered if anyone in here has had a similar issue as it appears it's happened to a few people after some Googling.

I'm finding my A6 a rather nice place to be and fast enough. Either I'm getting old, or it's because the only other thing I drive at the moment is a Chevy Spark 1.2 :/

It's also spinning the fronts in these damp conditions and the torque steer is rather amusing.
