Audi owners in here!

Ouchhhh I'd be taking photos of the pot holes and billing the council

Have done so - however hearing its less and less likely they even respond to you these days. Luckily it seems to have only bend the outer rim and the car is driving fine and no noticeable pulling or vibrations

Bit harsh, probably hateful because its a 1.6TDI. Horrible engines...
I had one for a day when the A6 was in for a service. It's not *that* bad to be fair. It's just slow and seems to stop accelerating at 90MPH.

Averaged 54 MPG ragging it around on the motorways. Could be worse.

It's just got no power or torque. It was bad in the A1 so can't imagine it being good in an A3. Noisy and in the A1 you only get 5th gear with the 1.6tdi.

The 2.0TDI is so much nicer to drive and live with.

The 1.6TDI is a 6 speed in the A3. I also wouldn't say 110BHP is a terrible amount in a car the size of an A3.

The 1.6TDI was extremely loud in the A1, it's a much different story in the A3.

Is the 1.4 (150) variant better choice for a A1?

I've driven an A1 with the 125PS variant of the 1.4T engine, and it was actually very good. Felt plenty peppy to me, and it got some excellent MPG figures.

I wouldn't hesitate for a second to get the 150PS COD model.

I haven't driven that particular engine (is that the cylinder on demand one?) but yes I imagine it certainly is the better choice.

Yup that's the one, just looking at a new shopping trolley. :D

Odd question, can you fit a tow bar to them (Pulling no more than 350KG)?

Somebody should tell Audi / Mercedes / BMW then, because they have all got 350+ BHP monsters in this size of car.

I didn't say otherwise. There are TTs out there with 1000BHP, that doesn't stop people wanting or needing a smaller engine.

Although I'd have liked a more powerful engine the 1.6TDI does the job.

That sounds good news then, I may pop by the dealers then at the weekend to have a further look.
