Audi owners in here!

De-badging is normally a factory option, at least these days it is. Also those are the wheels on my black edition TTS, though as said, looks like they've been powder coated a darker grey than the stock colour.

I always thought black editions came with the rotors? Anyway, nice enough looking motor, although I think I prefer body colour wing mirrors personally. Leather, Nav and Bose?

Looking at the pricing and spec guide it appears that rotors were the only factory option on the BE actually.

I wasn't sure on the door mirrors in the pictures, but having then seen them in the flesh they do look good. But yes it has heated leather, nav and Bose. Although the RNS-E has been retrofitted.

I've had VCDS on it today, and there were fault codes stored in the nav due to improper coding, so I have sorted that and all codes cleared now. But I have found the 3.5mm Aux in doesn't work, I think an additional cable is required.

Earlier ones had those wheels.

Nice motor :)

Ah that answers the question about the wheels then :) Thanks.

Could well have been done at the factory then.

The wheels are in very good condition and they have a nice metallic flake to them which looks lovely in the sun. It's also nice to see it has Bridgestones all round, although not my choice of tyre I prefer them to budgets, and it shows the previous owner had some sense.

As far as I can tell it's never had a DSG oil change so that's priority. I've ordered the bits to fit cruise control so will get that fitted in the week.

Also while on VCDS went through some of the coding options and changed a few things to my liking.

Been out for a drive today 'just because', I'm really loving it a lot :)

38k according to the service book. Seen some guides, I think I'll buy a cheap tool to bottom fill it rather than the slow top fill, we'll see though.

It's priority next month. I don't understand it either :( Will get on to TPS for the oil and filter, hopefully get trade discount through work.

So the AC in my 64 plate A3 has stopped working.

Anything worth checking before I call the dealer?

Called the dealer today and they said that it likely just needs a regas, does that sound right on a car that isn't even two years old?

I've done about 20k miles and have had the AC on for a fairly large amount of that.

However I'm fairly sure the AC hasn't worked for a few months at least.

It probably does need a regas. But ask them to fix whatever it is that broke to allow all the gas to escape first.

I've agreed to pay for a regas provided they wave the cost if it doesn't fix the issue.

I understand it is expected every two years but for the AC to make no difference at all after under two years seems odd to me.

What is expected every 2 years? A regas? No it isn't. A basic health check of the A/C components is carried out at regular intervals, but nothing more.

Are you one of these people who turn their A/C off?

Regardless, it won't (or shouldn't) need a regas unless there is a leak. My A4 is 38 months old now, and it certainly hasn't needed any A/C maintenance.

I turned my AC off during winter when it was cold during the days. That is about it. Well, I guess the car will get a pointless regas, Audi will have to wave the bill and fix the issue.

Of course the issue you now face is that if the leak is slight, the system will "work" after it gets gassed, but might fail again down the line.
