Just a big thanks again for this. I sprayed on some bug and tar remover, left it overnight, then attacked it the next day with a plastic card. Its spot on now :D
Have to say that the mileage on this S5 is a very mixed bag. ...

Glad to hear you sorted it.
Agree on the mileage, around town and on the twisty country roads where i live i often see 20mpg on 10-15 mile drives. Across MK is terrible for mileage though, up to 70 down to stop every 1km with all the roundabouts. and thats not driving it hard,
It does tell me to take my foot of the gas all the time cause im approaching a roundabout, MILTON KEYNES your always approaching a roundabout!

Ran it back up north Easter weekend though and it was in the mid 30s on the way up, traffic was pretty clear and was sat at around 80 except the 50mph sections. on the way back the traffic was terrible and i cant remember the mileage but the average speed was around 35mph on a 230 mile run.

Anyone able to confirm if the b9 matrix lights auto adjust via gps when they know the car is driving in a country and opposite side of the road?

There is no options in the mmi to adjust so guessing it's automatic?

Fingers crossed my BMW Z4 35is will be sold over the weekend and I'll be getting a V8 RS5 delivered on Tuesday, so touchwood will be joining the Audi club!

All LED headlights (Audi ones at least) are now agnostic to which side of the road you're on and require no adjustment.

The Matrix system works by watching the road ahead with a camera and adjusting the beams accordingly and thus doesn't care what side of the road you're on.

I don't think they do. I got flashed more than a few times when I did a eurotrip last year so I stopped activating the matrix lights.

Nonsense, any flashing will have had nothing to do with being on the other side of the road. The system deals with all traffic in range of your headlights, whichever 'side' of you they're on.

I got flashed about 5-10 times on the continent in a two week period, and only once or twice in the UK over the past 18 months so you do the maths. I'm not convinced at all that the matrix lights beam pattern adapts based on GPS data.

I get what you're saying, but my personal experience contradicts what you believe to be true.

It doesn't need to.

Believe whatever rubbish you want to believe based on a total disregard for all logic and a tiny bit of experience

My dad has matrix LED in his A8 (2015) but this has an option to adjust for right hand side driving - it is a greyed out option however so maybe only allows you to select this when in the continent etc?

Thinking of upgrading the audio in the S5 as it doesn’t fill my ears with joy.

I did listen to the optional B&O stereo before I specced the car and really wasn’t impressed with that either.

I’ve emailed a few car audio specialists in the north west to see what my options are. Looking at spending £500-£750, hoping that will get me some audio improvements.

Guys, I've made a boo boo

I didn't spec the piano black interior when ordering.....really want it. Does anyone know a kind dealer, or a third party able to source genuine parts that won't rip me off?

Car is an Audi A4

Is it too late to change the order?

Huntingdon Audi have always sourced me decent priced parts when I've done retrofits.

Yeah I collect it soon, I'll give huntingdon a call today. I'm pretty good with car trims, so I think I should be able to sell the original on ebay to recoupe some of the money.

The lights are definitely higher on the left hand side and stop down to the right in the middle.

Well if you're going to be a complete **** about it, take your car to the continent and let us all know how flawless your experience was.

I have the same experience daily. Regularly driving home from my gf's place at night with the high beam assist I probably get flashed about 10 times in the space of 15 minutes. I know the lights are very bright and i see them adjusting around other cars on the road but its obviously not nice for oncoming traffic.

Pics of mine from other thread.

I'm not so sure this is true. I've not used the Audi system but the BMW system specifically says in the owners manual that when driving on the other side of the road, the high beam assistance function is disabled and cannot be used. It mentions this for both the Xenon and the LED Matrix systems. I don't see why this would happen if it was perfectly safe and fine to use the function on the continent. Have a look through the Audi owners manual as it'll say something similar if its the case.
