Audi owners in here!

If you would be happy with an old shape A6, get an older one (2008 onwards for the facelift) and pay far less.

No way I could justify spending that much on the old one, when a new shape is not much more, but is an all-round better car (with the right spec).

I do quite like the newer shape, so would prefer that :)

The newer A5 shape looks nicer than the A6... could just be me though.

The new one is a better drive. The all-aluminium body keeps the weight down low, and as a result it drives like a much lighter, smaller car. The technology within is a much better experience than the older MMI in the C6/4F A6 (assuming you get one with HDD rather than SD nav).

I'm still undecided between the A5 ana A6. What are the primary differences?

Errr seriously? One is a big saloon, the other is a smaller coupe :p

The A5 platform was also introduced in 2007, in car terms its now old, expect it to be totally replaced next year. The A6 was introduced in 2011, so it's a generation ahead with a more modern platform and more modern tech.

It's probably just me but driving around today I saw quite a few A5 and A6 cars and visually I found it hard to tell the difference. I'm thinking the A6 might be a little big for me.

Whilst we're talking about A6's and the importance of options, what's thoughts on the below from the AUC site...

To me the only things that jump out as being options on it are the Technology and Comfort packs. Is there anything else to look out for when looking at the new A6? Or anything on the below that's actually an option and not standard?

Is this for you? It seems odd that in one thread you are posting about how you've just spent a pile of cash on new brakes etc etc for your current car yet in this one you appear to be speccing up a £25k executive saloon

Not sure what is in the comfort package but heated seats, electric seats, reversing camera, folding mirrors and advanced key aren't standard.

Brakes are on my Clio 182. Above is for the family wagon... but my old man doesn't use the internet and just wants me to find him one to buy!

whats the best option to buy a A5 personally i can afford to buy one strait out but its a lot of money that will probly lose a lot in afew years, should i buy strait out or go finance? (not brand new btw)

Just found the brochure online, and as above it's the HDD one :).
