Australian Grand Prix 2012, Albert Park Circuit - Race 1/20

And I see no issue with having 2 top drivers in the same team. I think the whole Senna/Prost thing has blurred peoples vision. Why do team mates have to get on?
.

The question should be would LH risk going to a team so wrapped around one driver (potentially to the detriment of the other).

If the two top drivers arrived at the team in the same year - there wouldnt be an issue, but a team and management so wrapped around SV, the 2nd seat would only be that interesting to a young charger / middle of the grid decent point scorer but no leader imo

Admittedly JB risked it with his move to McLaren, but he was sort of forced into that (by Brawn /Merc wanting an all German team, and no other top drives available) - and so far its worked out well for him, but it also has to be said that the McLaren wasnt a championship beater like the RBR currently is

You mean like when Jenson Button went to McLaren...

I just think all this '1 man team' stuff is blown massively out of proportion by people. Team mates do not need to get on. They do not need to be categorised into a 1st and 2nd driver, and so long as they aren't crashing into each other there is no issue with having the 2 best drivers on the grid in 1 team.

Yes Senna and Prost showed how it can go wrong, but there are also other examples of where its worked fine.

Of course RBR wont get Hamilton if they offer him a 'number 2' contract, so that just means if they do want him they will offer him an equal contract. Simple as that. RBR won't turn down Hamilton because they are worried about how having both drivers in the same team would work, they would turn him down because they don't want him, either because they want someone else, or they want to run a team structure Hamilton wont fit into.

Plus, F1 drivers are far to nice now-a-days. They are all PR filtered. When was the last time you saw title contenders storming down pit lanes threatening to punch people, or deliberately ramming people off?

Personally, I would love to see Hamilton at RBR alongside Vettel.

Horner needs someone who will sign a 'yes il be number 2' contract, he will never get hamilton to do that, without a dedicated number 2 to be screwed over at any opportunity vettels runs would be less easy.

No he doesn't. For all we kno if asked Vettel might relish the chance to race against Hamilton, Alonso or whoever in the same machinery.

I think they'd perform well without any major tantrums.

Who was it who got their handbags out at Brazil a few years back after a lap 1 crash? It had all the makings of a big fight and then just fizzled out.

Yeah we know, you keep repeating it every week :D How about Vettel at McLaren with Lewis? why are you so set on getting Lewis in a Red Bull..his only chance to win?

Because Lewis leaving McLaren is more likely than Vettel leaving Red Bull. But both of them together in any team would be great.

As likely as him signing a new deal with McLaren I guess. Not much options for him with RBR not interested, and Lewis slagged them off so not sure why he would want to drive for a fizzy drinks company :D Maybe Vettel has get out clauses if certain teams come asking.

He can come to Ferrari and have a fair fight with Alonso :D

He won't move. McLaren might not of been producing the best car, but it's not like they're producing dogs either, best of the rest.
The only place he could go is rbr and I can't see that happening.
