Bahrain Grand Prix 2013, Sakhir - Race 4/19

Unbelievable.

McLaren ask Perez to "temper" style. Hypocrites.

Nice sensationalist headline from Autosport, when the only bit Whitmarsh said about that was this in bold -

"He's a young driver, he's going to learn, perhaps calm down a little bit in some things but at the same time it's that passion that got him past a few more drivers later in the race."

Sensationlist or not. Whitmarsh has once again proven his indecisiveness.

In a nutshell he's saying calm down, but speed up? What the actual?

Whitmarsh said:
"He needs to toughen up as he has so far been generous in allowing people past him. Yesterday he was a bit more robust.

"He didn't mention the incident at all, but I said to him I support him, that when he is out there racing he has to use his elbows. It's right to be robust without being dirty."

And use his elbows is what Perez EXACTLY did today... his racing was clean imo.

Vettel to win this year looks like it already.

I'll bite. I think it's far from clear cut. Newey has designed a car that's the fastest in clean air with an efficient DRS system, it's pretty much been this way for the last 3 years. Except this year they've lost the qualifying DRS advantage and can't guarantee Vettel sticking it on pole to get away.

With Ferrari, Lotus and Mercedes able to disrupt their races I don't think they will be counting their chickens yet.

I'm not sure how the development race will pan out this year.

But if you're confident then enjoy your winnings at the end of the season. How much you putting on?

Hi, this is what Perez said after the race., "I guess I was a little aggressive on track today; banging wheels with Jenson was perhaps a little too risky, a little too hard, but the team never came on the radio to tell us to stop racing. There were no team orders. There was a lot of adrenaline from both of us, and Jenson is always a very strong racer, but hopefully we'll help each other a little more in the future. He was calm and friendly after the race, though, which was great; but that isn't surprising because he's a great guy as well as a great driver."
This is what Whitmarsh said, "Having said that, it's probably fair to say that Checo was a little too combative with Jenson this afternoon, and I think he knows that".

Now I don't know what is 'indecision' but Perez cost the team more points by his over aggressive driving and as a 'intelligent' driver he should have known that. The responsibility lies with him..

Who says, Button's idiotic decision to pit at least 5 laps too early is what cost him points, nothing more or less. Rosberg wasn't in that fight, and he dropped back the same amount as Button by pitting way too early.

The pitstop cost Button, Button is making excuses he was on the radio saying the second the window opens he wants to come in, why, he was behind Perez and wanted to undercut him, he was scared of Perez pitting first so made sure he did. Mclaren or Button came up with 22laps left as a good time to pit, that was absurd, and cost him finishing in/around where PErez was.

Perez's aggressive driving, following Button, GOING OFF THE TRACK thanks to button, none of that hurt Perez's tyres... Button didn't drop off the cliff, nothing had happened, they just pitted because they were scared of the undercut and cost them an extra stop.

The only person overly aggressive in their driving is the guy who slows mid corner to scare off the guy behind him, and the guy who forces someone alongside him completely off the track... that wasn't Perez.

Anyone feel that Webber has kind of... well... called it? He doesn't seem 'that' interested anymore.. I may be wrong however

I hope not, but it would be easy to see why he would be disillusioned. Some thought he was throwing the toys out when he said Seb would be protected, but looking at everything since he was bang on. The trouble he has is Seb's genuinely the fastest of the two.

I think Webber has taken great enjoyment in "stealing" victories from Vettel in the past, so I don't expect him to give up.

Perez is just being diplomatic. He did nothing wrong and he knows it. It takes two to tangle, equally, button could have let him go since Perez was clearly faster. As usual whitmarsh sticks up for button. There is no way you can categorically say that Perez cost the team points through his driving.

If you bring responsibility into it, the responsibility lies with whitmarsh.
