Bahrain Grand Prix 2014, Sakhir - Race 3/19

I wish there was a way to watch formula 1 on the bbc with the radio commentary. James Allen and Alan Mcnish are so much better than Coulthard and Edwards imo.

There use to be, red button and change audio channel.

Few season ago before the switch to sky, I listened to r5l for a few races. gave up in the end as they cut to often to cricket and football.

The links are real though, aren't hugely accurate. I forget who mentioned it and where, free practice or the press conference. Heat energy recovery will be helpful but a car going down a motorway will gain very very little with very little braking in terms of efficiency. While a car stop starting in traffic could gain a bit more, but it's not going to be as good as an F1 car because energy recovery both heat and braking suit racing perfectly. Huge heat and insane braking is where it all comes from and normal road cars won't gain anywhere near as much. But 5% efficiency improvement on ALL cars is still a monumental amount of improvement.

I meant specifically F1 cars using less fuel. In response to those people who come up with statements like "why bother saving fuel yet flying all over the globe" and "I bet those lights use more energy than the fuel they are saving".

Its exactly as you say, fitting F1 into the global motor industry that it relies on for manufacturers. The green rules are not about making F1 green, but are about making its image fit with an industry that is.

They always used to do the R5 coverage on the red button as an alternative audio option. Might only be for live races now though.

Just spotted the 'Racing' logos all over the Williams, as Alcohol advertising is bannned.

So pointless when the teams offiicial name is still Williams Martini Racing, so everything that lists their name still has Martini in it.

Like Ferrari being called Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro for years after tobacco advertising was banned.

The power of these PU is just insane, not only are they handful' trying to put that power down, they're accessing faster between corners, making breaking harder.
Tis bloody brilliant. It'll be a sad day when they get the aero back and it switches back to an aero formula. As atm this is how race cars should be, to much power.

They said in p1, that it's not actually banned, that it's just being respectful of the country. How true that is no idea.

Wait for some young driver to get his pay drive at a team by officially renaming himself Jack Marlboro Daniels

I don't think they will ever overcome the 4x increase in torque with the regulations on exhausts and diffusers banning DDs and EBDs. Unless something magic comes along they will struggle to get the level of rear down force back that they once enjoyed.

But I hope they don't claw back too much before they arrive at places like Becketts and Eau Rouge with twitchy, torquey cars :)

Personally, I have no idea why Sutil always gets a seat. Just looking at his stats and he must be one of the most underwhelming drivers out there. 7th year in formula 1 now and the best result he can come with is one 4th place.
