Baldur's Gate 3

I'm also playing as a drow just because I'm sure in BG2 you couldn't and at one point you can rescue one and then a couple of party members don't like that. Is the alignment stuff still present but just hidden?

The thing here is that it doesnt matter whether BG3 raises the bar for CRPGs, the important thing is that this level of success will hopefully mean that the RPG genre itself gets a new lease of life from the success of BG3 and we see more RPGs being made which is a good thing for RPG fans.

Also, it's great to see what is mainly a single player game, and with no micro transactions, do incredibly well.

Personally, I will never buy/support games (looking at you, Diablo 4) that have a preponderance of MTX.

Not that I saw but the game is very inclusive with transgender being doable.

Ah so I have seen it before as I do have Cyberpunk 2077, so it's not as unique as I thought last night.

Yep which is what I was saying before, if someone wants to roll with a transgender character for their own RP reasons, you totally can, it's not for me but I'm glad they include such options so no is left out, without forcing people to play as one.

If you can cater for everyone without making a big deal of it that is the best outcome.

Somewhat reluctantly refunded. I like what I saw, but after dying again to the first enemies I saw after the intro, decided I don't have the time to learn a game like this these days. Starfield I think I'll manage!

i did the same in the ship, as i was watch youtube while i game, repeatedly died twice...
the alien guy says just get to the transponder, which i missed you DO not fight them & you take the ship down. Job done

Very easily missed imho but loving it after, Id say get it onnce its back on discount it be discounted in a few months i think

I'm 40 hours in and I'm just past the goblin bit. I think this is going to be a long play through :D Think I cheesed the goblin encampment and I missed quite a bit of dialogue:
I basically sneaked into the goblin camp through the top then let loose the iron flask, I think that was mistake number one as it might actually be an important item. As a result of that I killed everything inside the camp including npcs I now realise (after going back and loading a save and going through the front door) I may have missed a load of dialogue from the goblins and opportunities for approval with my team mates. Oh, I can't get that healing ring as the vendor turned hostile :(

It's not a game I feel you should play while doing other things. There's only so much hand holding they can do if you're not paying attention to it. However, I know more than a few people who are put off by the combat but love the story. They'll never get through it all though as it's simply too slow paced for them.

Two problems I'm having currently having is the desire to see all the dialog (save within dialogue is great); forcing myself not to reload saves ALL the time. And which party members to take. Astarion hates my decisions but so far his personality is great. :D

Definitely is a game that you need to pay attention to and the slower you play the better imo , this isnt Hades :) , and yes theres a fair bit of reading involved. Indeed there are several puzzles which have their solutions included within the books that you find, so if you skip reading the books you find you will end up not knowing how to do some of the puzzles.

there's so many paths through things and god knows what issues it can cause later on

Wasted resource is a wasted resource though :)

Indeed, you not supposed to fight the Tiefling with the flaming sword, although it's a nice reward if somehow you manage to beat him.
