Baldur's Gate 3

Ah ok. Well it's good they cater for how we all prefer to play the game :) Though I'd be miffed if my vote to kick the squirrel didn't go through.

It's more guidance the main person talking still has control of what option to pick, but if playing with friends you can just make a rule that the one which gets the most votes is the one that you pick.

Seems good so far, proper nerdy though. Throwing saves, 1d+4, dice rolls...Whhaaat. Anyway, went with tactician because Divinity just got so easy toward the end and I couldn't even be bothered to do Act 4.

Just got to the grove after exploring the ancient crypt on the beach.

Took me a few goes to clear that battle in the crypt with the skellies.

Is it just stats (AC) and positioning that affects hit chance? My chance to hit a harpy atm is 65% no matter if I am behind her or in front. Wondering the same with spells, my 'eldritch blast' doesn't seem to get more than 65% in this fight, no wonder it is just a 'miss' fest :D Oh I have karmic dice off too, I know that contradicts my annoyance but it just felt right to have it off.

20m currently against 4 harpies due to everyone missing.

@Tombstone I just realised my message could be taken as I was looking down on a different subset of nerding, just to clarify I absolutely was not!

Found my first bug yesterday, nearly caused my entire team to be wiped out! In fact I won the game with one character being 3% health and the final hit on the enemy boss at 7%.
I couldn't cast any spells or use a bow against an enemy boss as there was a dead spider in the way, even though I had the high ground on both characters. The boss was unselectable as a target unless I was in touching distance :/

It can be picky with the camera. I couldn't target an explosive barrel in my normal view, but when I zoomed right in and adjusted the camera, I was able to target it.

The creature's AC, level ( vs your level ) and environmental factors all affect your chance to hit. So, with a creature that's "higher" level than you are, or has a high armour class ( AC ), the chance to hit will never be that high. Spells, magical weapons, special feats or potions can help improve your chance to hit.

Yup, camera can be a bit awkward at times. But that's an issue in Larian's previous games, too, so I was expecting that.

oh no need to worry about that. I could only take offence if I, myself, thought that there was something negative in being a nerd and as I think being a nerd is great I wouldnt take offence at any subset of nerdism :D

In instances like that, I click on the mob in the initiative bar instead of clicking on their character model

Yes, it’s in the shadowlands.
Hm there are no shadowlands in act 1? Do you mean act 2? I've covered most of the map in 2 and haven't seen this yet (apart from the guy that makes ya drink but then this area is tied to a side quest) and in act 1 I don't remember this at all, I'm sure I covered everything.

Edit: they should include a launch last save option on the launcher that takes you in game, not a fan of loading screens.
edit 2: I thought animal handling let me speak to animals, apparently not, downed a potion and it has opened up a whole new world for me lol.

I haven't tried it on the highest one yet, but if the highest one makes it harder to hit/easier to be hit that is less interesting than boosting enemy hp/damage whilst keeping the chance to hit the same.

I think it's very much a case of 'artificial difficulty'.

Another weird bug. Magic missile (can't miss). Fired it and the game didn't acknowledge it hit the target (a hyena). I saw it hit via the animation but nothing in combat log.
