Baldur's Gate 3

One thing that is beginning to annoy me is the initiative system. BG3 uses only a D4 to roll init for everyone. It means there's very little variation in the turn order. My heavy armour, 10dex paladin is almost always last. There is a mod to change it 'back' to the D20 it's meant to be. I'm sorely tempted to try it but the others in the coop game don't want to.

You can take the alert feat I thunk it perma boosts your initiative roll, as well as making you immune to being surprised.

Thanks all for the ideas about the crucible being blocked. I tried moving the corpse but the drag/moving UI does not appear while click-holding. In the end I just did a save reload. Oddly this time I can still access the crucible while the corpse is on top of it.

On another note has anyone experienced below in their playthrough in Grymmforge?
The gnomes were still digging the rubbles and the slave masters gave rewards for returning the boots when I landed there. Nere is still trapped behind. I went exploring to the other side of the the map using mysty steps to jump the catwalks and eventually reaching the forge. While I was trying to figure out how to return back I saw Nere dead so I just took his head and now all NPCs have disappeared . I still have the blackpowder and Philomeens hideout quest marker in my map but the quest journal says its all completed.

No but I had an 'unfortunate' thing happen in the same place:

I helped him kill everyone and then I picked up a sword he must have dropped from a 'heat weapon' spell and that counted as stealing. No way to get out of it so ended up killing him too lol.

Also in that same area, there is a bug that stop you using the forge more than once

Another thing that seems dumb, someone has loads of stuff to trade but when you kill them, all that inventory somehow vanishes.
Yeah that does annoy me but then again I'm that person who finds it annoying that in 99% of games I kill an enemy and I cant pick up the gun he was shooting me with, or grab the armour he was wearing, or that in some games I can kill a creature that has no pockets and its got gold on its corpse, so its one of those things that bugs me in most games :D

I remember in 2 being really cheesy and stealing stuff from merchants and selling it right back to get loads of gold lol.

I'm done for a while anyway, lost an hours progress because I didn't save, considering the weird times it decides to autosave, I cannot believe it didn't do so after moving to a new area following the "make sure to tie up loose ends" message. Then following a 20m fight full of misses I died. Weirdly, performance seems to be getting worse the farther I go on too.

Actually another reason I'm hoping rogue trader is delayed because I can't take too much of this slow turn-based combat

I think rogue trader is all turn based, even movement, and baldurs gate 3 act 3 has still some issues, hopefully they continue to patch it up, which im sure larian will do

Oh, well that will save me some money if that is the case. Plenty of other ways to get my 40K fix. Not even played their previous game Pathfinder, I got it but saw the character selection screen, closed it and thought CBA.

Yep been paying alpha for rogue trader. Same as here. All combat is turn based. Then outside combat run around like normal.

Did you rest? If you rest too much time advances (I think you are okay if you just short rest but I'm not 100% sure).

It's this - I actually got warning when I went to rest that if I did...he'd be dead. Iad to do it, it wasn't my ideal outcome but my party was absolutely hanging, and it's a big fight...
My party was in bad shape too but I drank all my health potions and
sided with the rebels, they helped me in the fight.

Somehow I just managed to hang on.

Been putting a few hours into this over the weekend. Keep getting side-tracked investigating stuff. Anyway have ended up in Selunite Outpost and found a couple of doors that require a 20 roll, managed to get them open after a few tries but one of the doors looks to be the only way further down. What do you do if you don't have someone who can lockpick? Also, in the goblin camp was some bloke who gave me the speech icon, he talked about torture then I kept getting interrupted by guards for killing everyone. I think he is bugged as I shot him 4 times and he looked to ready himself to fight each time but then never did anything.
