Unless they're opening the monitors before they send them they can't guarantee it.only PVAs will be sent out as replacements.

We mean open the monitor boxes, not the monitors themselves. As posted here by kikifr you don't need to open the monitor to find out what panel is uses but for some reason a lot of people have ignored it.

In my case, that was wrong. The monitor reported itself as a V0 but the sticker on the back (through the vent) said V4. It also had poor viewing angles and did not perform anything like a VA panel. Pictures on the panel I had (proving it's a TN): http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showpost.php?p=11221244&postcount=2513
Now compare those pictures to these: http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showpost.php?p=10552114&postcount=170
It's strange that the sticker and what was reported on the screen when I held down the menu & + buttons were both different. But for whatever reason that is, I still think actually opening the monitor, plugging it in and testing it is the only way to 100% determine what kind of panel it is...
The V0 is TN, there's no v4.The monitor reported itself as a V0 but the sticker on the back (through the vent) said V4.
Are you sure that your panel was not a M240UW04 V0? (TN panel)
It's different from M240UW01 V0 (MVA panel)
In this case the panel reported in the menu would be correct
Instead of OCuk replacing my TN panel again, could i instead get a "BenQ G2400W 24" Widescreen HDMI/HDCP LCD HD Monitor - Black" as the replacement and pay the additional amount?
Would that be possible?
And what panel does the BenQ use?
Probably the TN OcUK ones, they're usually the same panels as the 248s and possibly the 245s.
Yep. Most va 24" panels are atleast twice the price of the OcUK one.
