BARGAIN - OcUK 24" with DVI (*VA Panel) for £179.99+VAT (This Week Only Deal!!)

I was assured again this morning that although the TNs were originally mixed with the PVAs, they now have their own separate order code and all replacements will be PVAs.

Would be interesting to know if those who received TNs as replacements could double check their order and make sure it's not showing up as a TN panel on the order itself ?

pingu666 - let us know which you get.

And there isn't really anything wrong at all with TN panels - slightly reduced viewing angle and *possibly* slightly worse colour reproduction.
That is a matter of opinion of course. I've owned 3 TN panels (two of which I returned), hated them all and would never buy another. I can live with them on laptops just about (it's much easier and quicker to adjust the screen tilt to keep a decent picture, plus on laptops there's no alterntive to TN), but not for a main PC display. I think the non-TN panel is a good part of the reason the screen is selling so well, along with the price of course.

My S-IPS Dell 2007WFP is such a pleasure to use, you just never have to think about viewing angles, whether you sit up, slouch, move about, it just always looks the same. When I had a TN for my main monitor I was forever adjusting it and there was no sweet spot where the screen looked even, it was always either dark at the top or pale at the bottom. I'm looking at a TN right now on my laptop, and I can easily see how much darker the blue background is at the top of the screen and how the windows taskbar looks pale.

Have now received my replacement I'm astonished at the improvement it is a Matte screen and has excellent viewing angles. it's certainly not a TN panel. Photographs taken with 400D just jump out of the screen.

Very impressed with this monitor. Passed all the tests on the LCD monitor test site unlike the old TN one which had serious contrast and colour shift issues.

Cannot fault this monitor for the price.

Thanks OC UK

we got 2 tn panels :(, already phoned up ocuk for a rma for both of them, ill up some pics soon, gonna try and get the panel info up aswell. my dads pretty angry :/

Pingu, I really think now, that at this stage, you might not want to go for the RMA option. Get a refund instead

OR

if you are happy with the monitors, then do a deal with OCUK, explaining that you have taken time off work on multiple occassions and its costing you money each time you do this. Hence, you wish to keep the monitor(s), but at the lower rate, as advertised on OCUK website.

How many times have you done the exchanges so far?

It is also clear that someone in customer services appears to be making promises about guaranteed VA panels, that they cant keep.

Indeed, I thought they had removed all the TNs. They're gonna need to change the specs and stop selling it as a VA 180/180 panel.

just rma'd my replacement, they are collecting it tomorrow. pray to god that the replacement's replacement is a pva, or i will f'ing flip.

the problem is, the boxes of the tn panel monitors are exactly the same as the pva ones. makes me think digimate is trying to pull a fast one on ocuk. or ocuk on us.

I doubt the latter :)

I am guessing mine IS a VA panel though?
