BARGAIN - OcUK 24" with DVI (*VA Panel) for £179.99+VAT (This Week Only Deal!!)

Hve you anything to post about monitors? Pretty much all you have said is about other posters. have you tried one of these monitors od are ytou thinking of buying one?

I've been told to re-order, as the TNs being returned are being sent out again as replacements. The only way to get a VA is to put in a new order apparently.

Im sure you put in a new order though and received a TN ? So not sure if it's worth bothering.

I was told on friday to not reorder as they could only guarantee I would get a VA if I did replacement... but tbh I could not understand what the guy was saying:/

I have also phoned OcUK on Friday and am RMAing my 2nd TN, on all my emails the product is stated as a VA. So I hope that I dont have to reorder as I bought it in the sale.

The first option in the service menu says PGAE, its a typo, it means page,

Press the menu button to select it then press + to change to page 2

not on mine lol

I came across this monitor deal last night while I was pricing a new system and thought it was a fantastic offer... then I read this thread. :(

I'm inclined to purchase it anyway, given the current offer, but don't want to participate in this alleged panel lottery! Can we get some guarantees that this TN/VA thing has been resolved, as it's holding up me ordering £1000+ of hardware from here for a new gaming rig.

The OcUK team have all gone on holiday to barbados so they will respond to these queries upon their return :D:D

Would I be right in saying that IF I ordered one of these and got a TN panel I could get it returned (at no extra cost to me) for a PVA panel and if again it was incorrect I could return it (again at no extra cost to me?) until I get the right panel?

It's such a good deal with 3 years warranty I'm thinking it may be worth a bit of hassle? :)

indeed. if its the wrong panel, ring up, theyll give you a RMA number and then the next day it will be picked up at no extra cost.

< and repeat until the correct panel turns up >

:p :)

That should be right, Fonzee, I am returning a replacement. I am just fed up with the time it takes to get put right though5 days isn't too bad from a collect and return. If the problem has been solved than my returns should be replaced with the correct model and I will be not only satisfied but delighted from what I have heard on the PVA model.

The warranty replacements are via DGM and not OCUK and I imagine they would swap like for like. This is a bit pessimistic though as most monitors just carry on working but the warranty is a useful insurance if there are problems

what happens if the monitor breaks will i get a va or a tn on the warranty?
Either TBH. OcUK may be selling the screen as specifically a *VA but I suspect as far as Digimate is concerned the screen is just a 2442WD whether it has a VA or TN panel and they'd probably think they weren't obliged to give you a VA replacement. Unless someone knows otherwise...

Theyre supposed to replace like for like. So you'd probably get the VA panel, if you didnt you would be within rights to send it back again anyway.

Isnt that slating OCuk as much as the other posts you criticised ? And calling people "prat" is hardly constructive now is it.

Morally ? There's no morals in that I would think, it's just good business practice (as long as you don't get found out of course).
Id say that silencing peoples opinions (freedom of speech) is definately a moral point.

So you're saying even though the retailer has sold you a VA panel, the warranty does not guarantee you the same ?? You sure about that, or just guessing ?

Id have thought OcUK would have made that clear on their website if that was the case.

does any amount of backlight bleed warrent an rma? picked one up yesterday (second hand but with reciept, only a few weeks old) was amazing at uni and when i saw it at the guys house, got home and the corners are basically going into a full white :( Also the black doesnt seem as black anymore. I'll try fiddling with cables and stuff later on.

its a va panel btw.

any help?

i suspect this is true, however, they do state on their specification 180/180 viewing angles and as such if they replaced it with a TN panel it would not meet their specification. so should be able to demand a VA panel on this basis.
